I’ve never asked what or anything is covered on my pins. I’ve got 4 n fixing to hopefully be 5. I get it’s funny with people having problems getting things from Stern.
I’m just asking will they do something or not and is there anything warranty on a pin I just couldn’t remember.

Okay, I just found it hard to believe anyone that's ever been on this site haven't read about playfield dimples and the back and forth on the subject. The short answer is that they are normal and definitely not something any manufacturer will do anything about. Enjoy your game and if it's a year old nothing is under warranty anymore.

I have read about it in the past n some people have said contact stern others have said different things. Everyone got different answers so I just couldn’t remember for sure I could have researched the thread appreciate the response. Thanks
Quoted from big-c66:Hey how long is the warranty on the play field. I just noticed looking at mine as I lean down and look across the top I can see like little dimples in the finish. I haven’t noticed any difference in playing or anything but should I worry about it or what is everyone opinion. Thanks
Oh this may will be a year sense I bought it new.
Not sure if this is your first pin, but dimples are very common and Stern will not warranty replace your playfield. It is considered normal wear and tear.

I assume you are kidding, but if not, there are a zillion threads about playfield dimples and warranty/expectations. My 2-cents: You will make yourself nuts worrying about dimples and the thickness of clearcoat, and the age of the drying and which batch of playfields your machine came from, but most folks would say you should expect some playfield wear when 80grams of steel is tossed into a piece of painted wood a 1000 times a game. Just enjoy the machine unless it really is separating or cracking vertically.

No I have 4 pins Munster premium guardians of galaxy tmnt n Deadpool I knew there was talk about it I just couldn’t remember so I just thought I would ask thanks.
I had an amazing game yesterday. Hadn't played in about a week. Turned guardians on to try and beat it. Well, on game two I did! 5.2 billion. I think alot of my points came from cherry bomb, over 2 billion if I remember because I had double scoring running

Welcome to modern playfields!

Well the good thing about it is when it’s time to ever do something to the play field I can fix it. I’ve done paint n body work for over 30 years I’ll make it slick as glass n lay down a clear coat that is tough as nails.
It's a lot more noticeable on home games. Routed games get the orange peel look over time from getting Xs more plays, whereas it takes a lot longer to get the uniformity at home. Like you said originally, has no impact on game play, doesn't damage the art or cause peeling/chipping, so I've just learned to live with it. The ribbing bothers me more than dimpling to be honest, though lots of people don't mind that either.

Eventually, you'll get enough dimples that the playfield looks nice and uniform
Been considering picking one of these up. Is the upgrade to the Premium worth it? Not sure of the differences besides addition of spinners on the prem.

Spinners, two extra magnets, and full RGB. It's not worth the price increase in my opinion.

+ motorized orb and Rocket, Groot arms, red, white and blue GI. Definitely worth the difference in my opinion. (Just the full RGB insert lighting is worth it, IMO.)
Everybody has their own opinion. Get the features that matter to you.

It terms of gameplay difference it is only spinners. Value is different to everyone. Big price difference now though, give or take 5K Pro to Premium is a huge jump.
I would upgrade to a Premium if it was only 1500 because I love the game but I would take the Groot arms off.
Any thoughts in way of options for Groot mouth motor? Found reference to the DCM-1018 from multiproducts.com as an option, however for a $30 part, they want to charge $175 just in shipping to Canada. I could try my local supplier for official Stern part replacement, however don't need the full Groot mouth assembly, just the motor.
I may attempt to strip apart existing motor to see if I can fix it first, since I can't make it worse.

I added it to my Deadpool and my AIQ. I can't bring myself to give up my Cleland code update and go back to the old music
Has anyone put 1.09 on an SD card, successfully ran it, and then went back to 1.06? I know there are some compatibility concerns (new node boards I think?) but with my machine build in 2017, this really shouldn't be an issue... right? I wanna mess around with 1.09, but if it's between my modded 1.06 and 1.09, I'm gonna keep my current code.
If anyone gets the chance, I highly recommend it. Just had a preview ride at Epcot of the new GOTG ride. Dark ride rollercoaster flying through space while playing Tears for Fears ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’. Fast, but super smooth. Not crazy intense, just pure smiles. I think it has become my new favorite ride.

I know what you mean. I thought about it before committing but I'm happy with my decision. Admittedly I'm driven by achievements.

With a 2017 machine, you can run any version of the code because it has the original node boards, and should be fine going back and forth. August2021 and newer machines need the newer code only due to a change in the node board design.

Has that been proven yet? When I updated mine (2017 build) to 1.06 it updated the node firmware. I didn't think you could roll it back for fear of bricking it. I haven't seen where anyone has done it and confirmed it is safe unless I missed it.

I have not rolled a Guardians back and forth, but did so regularly on a Jurassic. The node boards happily accepted their updated microcode with newer game code, and then they downgraded microcode when using earlier versions of the game code. Probably swapped up and down more than 8 or 10 times when testing custom version of gamecode.

I emailed Stern support with this question and they sent me back the following -
"Once you update code, please do NOT revert back to older code.
The new code will update the node board runtime, and putting old code back in the game may cause the nodes to not be able to work properly.
We always recommend running your game with the most recent code available. "
So, with that and what bigguybbr is saying about the node firmware being updated in 1.06, I am not going to risk trying.

I got a replacement directly from Stern. It took a while to get in, but eventually arrived. I also have a backup from Pinball Life. Both good motors.

But did you get and have to pay for the full assembly with the motor? Or were able to just simply get the motor? I'd have to have my local supplier obtain it from Stern, as they won't deal with me direct.

Hey Everyone,
I finally picked up a premium a month ago after about a years search and today I received a disassembled topper for it.
Does this connector go somewhere?
I’m so looking forward to going through this thread to see what you guys have come up with for this nice machine.

Not sure as I don't have a topper on mine, but that looks like a power connector which is found in the power supply on bottom right corner of the head.
I could be totally wrong though.

Just an FYI. I will be returning my friend's Guardians Pro soon. Here's a video showing my final mod of the code.

I'm a little surprised this is still being made, but is it confirmed this is the last run?
Just joined the club last weekend with a pro.
What’s the consensus on blades for this pin? I’ve always been a mirror guy which would make the artwork in this pop. OTOH the art blades from stern are pretty slick and appear to expand the playfield.

I'm more of a factory art blades guy. I really like them on this machine.
I also like that you don't have to worry about scuffing or getting finger prints on them like mirrors or other art blades where they can tear. The Stern ones are a great product.

I agree and did the OEM ones but these look amazing if you want an option.

The hexagon thing getting out of control on this pin's artwork would be my concern with the pingraffix design. I'll be seeing wormhole jump points in my sleep...

I went with art blades because I never had before and I like how they "fill in" the space.
What's been everyones choice on post sleeve replacement? Color. Brand. Tapered (I'm thinking the orb and R ramp posts)
I'm loving the game even though some shots are brutal, but this forum warned me about that. Looking forward to SKWilson stream tonight to get some tips.
Stern just released Insider Connect Leaderboards and it seems they will hold competitions you can play from anywhere (including your home). The first is for God Zilla.

Didn't even think of that. Ya, a home machine with Insider on it, could rack up a huge score by doing this.

This is why home pin are "unverified" and earn half points or whatever. They have some criteria for "verified" pins that is supposed to trust operators or whoever to not go nuts with rubber bands or removing glass. I haven't looked at the new stuff yet but it seems nontrivial to me to reconcile people playing with different settings. I'm not sure how useful it is to compare scores when settings can significantly affect gameplay, much less how you compare playfield angle or tiltbob sensitivity. Really, even trying to set up two machines side by side to play the same can be hard to do, this is why tournament scoring is on the same machine. Comparing scores is fun, no doubt. It's not often going to be apples-to-apples fair so it's all in good fun and imho shouldn't be taken very seriously.
EDIT: oops, I finally read the press release and watched the video, sorry. It never occurred to me this was a location-only thing for pro operator accounts only. As far as I can see, home pins can't participate in leaderboards and there won't be any within 100 mile radius of me anyway.

But wait....

I can login to my insider connected, but I don't see anything at all about leaderboards on my account or any way to see them. Perhaps the feature isn't released yet? Seems odd to me to have a press release and video about it but it's not mentioned at all when logged into insider connected, even on the announcements page.
Added over 2 years ago:Watched Deadflip's video and yeah currently leaderboards are only for pro accounts but home users are supposedly going to happen. There are separate world leaderboards for verified and unverified.
