I thought Zach said pros were done and JP was going on the line this week? Man this sucks.

(FlipNOut) Zach's reply to me last night was "We still haven't heard " about if GOTG made it onto the line this week.
Quoted from Spiderpin:What's the most # of combos that you have gotten?
17 is my highest but I'm not sure how it's counted at all. I was so happy when I got it cause it's been almost 9 months since I got the machine and I finally took that champ lol. My stranger things I have the combo champ well over 150 so they gotta be counting it in a different way.

I'm waiting on an AIQ premium as well and it seems like stern is having some kind of supply problem. That was supposed to go on the line 2 weeks ago but has not yet. Apparently they did an unexpected run of mando pro's last week since they had the parts and those are being delivered now.

Zach's TPN podcast this week he briefly talked about Stern production schedule delays and supply chain issues. It sounds like they are having to tweak scheduling on a weekly basis to work around component availability.
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:Are you getting the cliffy protector for the scoop from pinball life? My topper from mezel mods will be here tomorrow hopefully. Hopefully hear some news from Melissa from cointaker that the game has shipped.
Have had GOTG for over 2 years and I highly recommend the scoop protector. The edge of my scoop started showing wear and then I added it on top.
Quoted from ExSquid:Getting it next week!! Distributor just dropped the bomb on me !
Nice! Congrats! I hope this bodes well for the rest of us who are waiting on batch and means they are indeed in production this week!

Congrats! Man I hope this goes for all of us who preordered a pro. I waited 8 months for Elvira so 2 to 3 weeks isn’t the worst thing. Last of my parts arrive on Monday from Pinball Life. Looking forward to see how clear translucent rubbers look on it. Still need to open mezel mods topper. Still sitting in the box waiting for me to open.

I bought so much for Guardians. Way too much lol.

I would like to get more also but I’m afraid I’d F up something installing them .

It’s not that difficult. And there’s help here if you have any questions or issues.
Say “ protectors” for instance . Some looks like you have to move quite a few things to put them on. Sorry if I’m wrong about that but very intimidating for me. I recently bought a new speaker kit for my BOP and that was fairly easy to do. But taken parts of the play field off makes me nervous.
This is me btw when people talk about mods .

One important thing to do is if your unsure take pictures as you go. Putting in plastic protectors, especially for Guardians won’t be that difficult.
Guardians was one of the easiest pins I've had to work on. Nicely designed. I do recommend some white lithium grease on the slides for groots mouth. It will make that whole mech smoother. I sold mine to get the aiq I have on order. At least I get to play it on league nights still

I’ll keep that in mind. The rocket one doesn’t look too hard. I’m worried about the right lane one everyone seems to talk about and the scoop protector .

Do you miss it ? I have my bride of pinbot I’m probably going to unload very soon. Put that towards a JP. I’ve had it for 13 years now. Feel like it’s time but I would also miss it.

The opportunity to pick up the premium aiq came up and guardians was the only pin the family was willing to part with. I loved the game but my wife and son were not as big fans. I do miss it but as I said I get to play it on league night still. Funny putting money in my old machine.
The protection I recommend are the rocket plastic, orb protector to get rid of the metal bar, and the scoop protector. I never saw the ball hit the right lane plastic but hit the rocket plastic all the time.

Wife and I visited a pinball place that just opened up by us on Long Island weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with this machine over all the others that where there. Once you get the multi balls going it’s insane ! The game can feel exhausting and crazy. Can’t wait to get it home and be able to “ hear” what’s going on. Couldn’t really do that at the arcade with all the other noise. Cleland hooked me up with his modification the the music. Can’t wait to try it out .
New owner here. My orb drop target worked fine the first 5 days I had played the game. Now, the target goes up when a ball enters but wont come back down.
I have been underneath trying to figure out what the issue is. I pushed the mech closer to the magnet to see if that could be the issue but still not working. The spring appears okay as well. Any ideas?

Not NIB. 2017 build with under 700 plays. I don't think it is the coil as it doesnt detect an issue when cycling in test mode. It doesnt come down in test mode, either.

Search for drop target issues earlier in this topic, I recall seeing discussion/solutions for various orb drop target issues.

or possibly somewhere else or not. A lot of info in this club, which I'm grateful to have to refer to.
Hopefully Stern ships out this upcoming week. Was hoping it would have happened this week already. Fingers crossed.
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:Hopefully Stern ships out this upcoming week. Was hoping it would have happened this week already. Fingers crossed.
Same. I wonder if Stern does any drop-shipping direct to distributor customers. It seems a waste to ship twice for customers waiting for paid machines, first to distributor then from distributor to customer. I really have no idea how this stuff is done.
Quoted from Sparky:I think I shared this hidden gem in this thread about three years ago, but it appears there are a lot of new owners, so I thought I'd share it again. [quoted image]
Where do I get this ?!
Quoted from ExSquid:Where do I get this ?!
It's on the playfield hidden under the shooter lane guide.
I wonder if someone could make a clear shooterlane guide to replace the metal one so that would always be able to be seen.

That’s awesome! That needs to be visible. Thanks for sharing again.
Quoted from C0untDeM0net:Every machine I've bought nib has been shipped directly from stern.
Melissa At cointaker said they will pick mine up and ship it to me. She said their warehouse is close to Stern. Still haven’t heard anything yet. Hopefully this week.

Hah! man I'm terrible......smh.
Has anyone tested the cabinet node board CN15 to see if the software includes support for LEDs to be used traditionally on the shooter plate? CN15 has four “spare” control lines, which could be activated by the game code if Stern had originally planned for a lighted shooter, kinda like Jurassic Park and AIQ. I am curious if anyone has tried those lines to see if they are being controlled by the gamecode. If not, it’s easy enough to grab static always-on voltage from elsewhere but game effects might be fun if the software included it.

Would like to know that also.
Does anybody have a link/reference for how topper control works? I'm curious what's involved and available for controlling lighting for a homebrew topper.
Quoted from BallyKISS1978:Would like to know that also.
Once my machine arrives, I will give it a try and report back if the gamecode has latent support for shooter plate LEDs. It might be a “secret” feature. It’s easy enough to do.
Quoted from ExSquid:Got my tracking number last night! WOOO!
Huge congrats! I'm hoping mine is not far behind!

Which Distributor did you purchase from? (Maybe they went to the factory to pick them up?).
I just checked with my disti and they haven't recieved any units as of today.

That pinball company
Has anyone ever had issues with their groot kickout getting weak? Mine all the sudden takes multiple tries to get the three locked balls out.
I replaced the coil sleeve in the coil already and hadn’t made a difference, going to swap the coil next but it appears to be in good shape. The mech moves freely too, not sure what is going on.
Could the mouth be partially closed? I had some binding on mine which was causing issues like that. I lubricated the slides for the jaw with white lithium grease and I believe there is an adjustment to make it level. Never had an issue after that.

Yeah....you could wire up a harness with some lights and just plug it into any SPIKE 2 CN15 and see if they did anything. I have my doubts, but who knows. Maybe there is some generic lighting code there from the start.
Quoted from ExSquid:Got my tracking number last night! WOOO!
Congrats You lucky bastard. I just emailed Melissa at Cointaker. Hopefully I get some good news.
Well ordered pinball life translucent clear rubber ring set and was sent green flipper rubber. Was supposed to be all clear. Man this sucks. They are out of stock now. Anyone use green flipper bat rubber? I think it will probably look ok. But I will adding through rgb lighting and really wanted the clear everywhere.

That's what I was thinking. The pins may be happily running, but Stern just never created the custom shooter rod accessory so nobody talks about it. And I don't think it's the kind of thing that shows up in release notes, so simply trying some LEDs connected to CN15 may be worth a shot to answre the question.
