Looks like a bunch of flashers under red plastic domes on the field. Wonder what those are for.
Quoted from Ericc123:Is anyone else super excited for the Deadflip episode when they play the game?
Honestly, I just wish Stern would release their own promo video. I'd rather get a first look with a clean cut video package than just a reveal stream. And this is coming from a partnered Twitch streamer.

Emitting bright flashes of light at certain times like every other flasher in pinball?
Quoted from tbanthony:Better not be like JJPOTC with no music, voices, or video that shows people’s faces. What a load of crap that is even if it’s Disney’s fault for being a PITA.
Please explain this. I am/was going to put up a couple games for sale to get POTC but if it isn't good....

I guess I phrased my question dumbly. I am seeing at least 3 and maybe 5. Doesn't that seem like a lot?

Naw, I love the Dead Flip streams of the new games. You get to see it in the same environment that you would at a bar or a friends house, people having fun.
I don't need a sanitized marketing video, I want actual people enjoying the game (or not).
The write up on Sterns page seems to imply that only the Pre/LE will have RGB lighting.
I thought it was awesome that SW pro got the full light package but also thought that that greatly diminished the reason to get one of the higher end models.
Curious to see what the case with GotG and future games will be.
I'am not a gotg nerd, don't now the movie that mutch.
But i like the machine.
Very colorfull.
Don't care it has lots of photoshop items.
Looks great, even the pro looks full with toys.

Did I see a raccoon on a spring???
IronTallica!
Looks like fun as usual. My only completely unsubstantiated complaint is that like every Stern game of the last 10 years they put something in it that will take constant infuriating adjusting to keep from shooting balls straight down the middle.
Quoted from herbertbsharp:is that the pro?
I believe so. Stern website says Pre/LE have groot arms reaching across the playfield

Yeah, this is directly related to the phasing out of subways. Wish they would at least have subways in the premium/LE to mitigate this issue.
Quoted from jgentry:Then why are you in a stern thread trying to see what their next game is?
Its still exciting to see what the next pin is going to be. One can hope that it will be awesome and Stern will get their shit together but still be cautious about it. They made a song about Stern a long time ago. it was titled "Once Bitten Twice Shy". You have to admit that they have brought this upon themselves. I do hope that it is badass as I love GOTG. I just don't know if I would want to own a game with node boards. All it takes is a electrical surge to blow them out.
Very close to Ironman with Grudy head instead of monger/center spinner. With some Metallica thrown in.
And that is definitely not a bad thing. Can't wait to see more.
Quoted from kid_ego:Thought I'd have to go Premium on this one, but leave it to Borg to make the Pro look loaded!
Curious to see if the gameplay difference is more than just the extra magnets for the Pre/LE.
-Rocket = War Machine from IM
-Groot is a combo of Sparky/Snake/Ark MB
-I like the drop target captive catch thing - borrowed from ST
-Modes and inserts look like they lend themselves to traditional rules (good IMO)
-Typical Borg fan/fast layout
Looks like it could be very good. Nothing mindblowing, but fun and looks nice. I'll definitely play it on location & contemplate purchase after that.
From the stern site LE/Premium features:
extra magnets
RGB lighting (maybe they mean tri color gi?)
sculpted groot arms (you can see them in front of the head on the LE small pic if you magnify it.

That's what Stern does well, frankly. When they "think outside the box" you get messes like Ghostbusters, or the rules from Star Wars. I'm sure this will be another solid traditional pinball effort from Stern. People who want "innovation" can go with JJP product or roll the dice with the amateurs.

Too true.

It's even closer to Met due to the lower half of the PF w/ the Fuel area as well as the CIU scoop... not to mention the same inlane setup. They took the War Machine mech and put it where the grave target was, and put in something else where the snake was.
I wouldn't even be surprised if the two mini standups in front of Groot are the exact same placement as Sparky's feet.
So... Stern... please finish the BM66 code and I may consider buying since those were my favorite movies in the last 5 years.

Definitely intrigued. I may have to find another game to let go to make a spot, but I'll wait to see some real gameplay and know where the code is at before committing.
Is that a Pro in that video?
Hard to complain about Stern's pricing when there's a really compelling game there are a price no one else is doing.
