Quoted from T-800:

The "hater" comes into play when the same individuals post repeatedly in threads all over pinside their toxic opinions and preach it as gospel. Having an opinion and clearly stating it and why is one thing, ramming it down everyone's throat over and over transitions from critic to obsession.

Quoted from Whysnow:

similar to people that start hype threads for games before they are announced and then go in every new thread to say how much they love the game, it is incredible, and GOAT; yet they have not even seen it in person let alone played it

I just see it as people that are really passionate about pinball and want it to be the best it can be. They praise the good and criticize the bad. I am ok with it.

Not to derail this conversation, but here is a way too early “deep dive” into GOTG - Overview, Likes, Dislikes, Features, Questions

Yes it is silly to do a "deep dive" without gameplay video, but we're doing it anyway!

Exactly. Repetition of any opinion is annoying. Some could argue the same about playfield layouts...

OOOOOH SNAP lol

Too bad GOTG is only based on the first movie, because a "Do not press this button" mode could have been perfectly integrated for lockdown bar button.

The lockdown bar button changes colors. So Rocket could come on the LCD, giving you instructions on hitting a sequence on the button when it's the right color, in a certain amount of time, while the ball is in play. Maybe shoot the alternating lit ramps to increase your jackpot award. Button colors are always changing. Hitting the wrong color might turn on the playfield magnets & screw with the ball.

"Hit the blue, green, yellow buttons. But DO NOT press the RED button, or we're all dead!" Of course Rocket is yelling at you the whole time during the mode. Keep hitting ramps & hitting the button when it's the right color. Complete sequence & get the jackpot. Hit the red button & you're screwed. Mode over.

See how a little creative coding can turn a simple button into great integrated feature, instead of just button mashing???

Come on Stern, think outside the box. Make it happen

Quoted from Who-Dey:

I actually don't consider you a stern hater. I don't understand your amount of hatred toward GB but that's cool, I don't have to understand it. I'm talking about the people who shit on everything Stern no matter what.

It's because GB is a great theme with horrendous shot geometry. I'm happy JT is gone. GB, WWE, and Mustang, but I did like Mustang.

I like Jon Borg a lot. I do wish he would change it up a little as when he does we get a Tron, X-men or TWD. I see the pro as a good value and hope the next one has 3 flippers. Fortunately, he seems to only ever do 2 that are alike and Stern gives him the least amount of development time.

Quoted from Goronic:

I can understand to color saturation of the cabinet as well as the PF and back glass. That is what Marvel is doing as well. Check out the movie posters! Color explosion. Looks good back lit for sure.
How about the Thor movie this weekend? Looking promising!

Are those LCD screens rotated? looks good I like it.

That dive was not very deep. You should wait to have more info.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if the hands move up and down and if the fingers move separately?

Does anyone know if Rocket is actually a small rodent that runs around inside the playfield? Does the game come with food and litter?

Just asking as some people here are analyzing gameplay already, and the hands could be an influence on gameplay. Probably way too early for any of this gameplay analysis is my point.

This is a clear cost cutting move by Stern to not include an actual genetically engineered raccoon in every game.

Such as the RareH and GB amongst other unrelated BS? Good example, especially regarding one of Stern's best selling pins ever.

The pin whisperer.

Dude. We know. They're pieces of plastic hovering over the playfield.

Why would anyone mod them to block shots? That sounds like the shittiest mod ever.

I guess you know this from underside playfield pictures? No motors maybe? That'd be more informative than "Dude. We know".

This is on the matrix for Prem and LE only. "All new EZ Slide cabinet brackets for smooth and easy playfield access". I wonder what that is?

You can tell from the pics that each arm is one solid piece and the back part of each arm is underneath a ramp. Pretty hard for them to go down with a ramp blocking it.

I think I'll wait for the gameplay video. You guys are probably right about the arms being static but it's too early to analyze whether I want to buy it or not. It would be odd to option a static toy on Prem/LEs. Not that it hasn't been done before, but at least the Millenium Falcon lit up. Thanks!

Not LCD's - but I have heard of that - and I think that is where it will end up at the movies.

I have 6 spread around the poker and pool table room. They are 'light box' movie poster frames. I ordered them from here a few years ago: https://www.ledprintco.com/collections/frontpage/products/premium-led-27x40-light-box-movie-poster-frame-black-anodized-aluminum-1

Yeah, the second movie had some great unique stuff that could have been cool modes or video screen fodder. (1) The bomb death button, (2) Dancing Groot, (3) Rocket, Groot, and the blue idiot making over 700 straight jumps, & (4) Rocket taking out hundreds of bad guys in the forest blowing them up in the air over and over. Among many others, including the Sovereign Empress constantly frustrated. Oh, well, shoulda, woulda, coulda!

If I had to pick the first or second movie to do a pin, I would have picked the 2nd. Too bad they couldn’t include some of 2nd movie. Several obvious scenes as pointed out would have been awesome for the pin.

I know because I know. LOL....me, Pimp, others here...we've been doing this long enough. We KNOW Stern isn't putting motors in the game for moving arms or some kind of complex finger puppetry system...it's just not happening....and if it was, they'd be telling us & showing us. Borg puts big giant molded plastic things on games...that's how he rolls. Kiss - giant plastic Gene head that doesn't move. X-Men - Giant Wolverine and Magneto that don't move. TWD - giant Well Walker on a hinge that flops a bit from impact, but no motors to make him move around and be scary or nothin'.

Arms are pieces of plastic. Don't do anything. Trust us.

Well we all have seen Stern's past games and the GOTG feature matrix and know Borg's MO not sure where you are coming from. I was just asking in case someone here actually has seen it, not anything more or in this case less than that. Anyway I'll wait for the gameplay video or if anyone has insider insight here on the game.

I was told when I ordered my LE the Pro’s are currently on the production line and will be shipping as soon as 2 weeks. Premiums will be end of Nov or first week of Dec and LE’s end of Dec...

I thought they were talkin about January 13th or something. I wonder if this is for real.

There's literally no ramp there. That's called the "left orbit".

There's nothing to understand. They're giant pieces of plastic that hover. A decoration. The ball goes under them. The block nothing (except your vision maybe)

They don’t have the “bump” when you slide the Plalyfield back into place

Cant tell if this is a joke? That's one photo of the Premium/LE with hands and one photo of the Pro without hands.

I think he was just trying to show what was underneath with the Pro picture

Humor. This game needs quirky humor like the movie. Hope the guys at Stern got that element right.

Absolutely. Heck, Stern could have had two sets of modes ladders on the playfield each with 8 modes with one labeled "Awesome Mode Mix: Volume 1" for the first movie and "Awesome Mode Mix: Volume 2" for the second movie.
