Quoted from John_I:

Well I have been wavering on whether to get a SW Premium or Metallica Premium. Maybe I will wait to see what GotG looks like before making that decision! I love the movies and think the music sound track and call-outs could be epic.

They will not have the music...pretty much guaranteed not to. Hopefully they have full access to voice clips and video assets though.

Quoted from John_I:

That was never MSRP in the TSPP LOTR era! That was the absolute dirt low price ever from a low ball distributor. MSRP at that point was around $4300 or more.

Eh, I think it's somewhere in the middle. I remember NIB TSPP at $3200 and NIB LOTR at $3400. I passed on many MB machines at $3500 in those days because it was too expensive! LOL!

Quoted from kid_ego:

My hope is that the artists whose songs are featured on the GotG soundtracks would be a bit easier to work with and more affordable to secure from a licensing perspective.
The thought of starting a game to:
Ooga-chaka Ooga-Ooga
Ooga-chaka Ooga-Ooga
Ooga-chaka Ooga-Ooga
Ooga-chaka Ooga-Ooga
...has me hooked on the thought of buying this game!

But here's the rub: if they manage to secure a lot of the music you know they are cutting budget out of the pin elsewhere, right? I'd rather the money go somewhere on the pf.

You might be right, but I have faith I'm going to be glad I held onto money I had earmarked for SW.
In Borg I trust...especially when he hasn't been rushed to turn something around more quickly than he'd like.

Totally. Borg and Nordman are the best designers currently IMO.

Quoted from J85M:

Although that isn't how we want Stern to proceed, it would be great to see Stern try and knock each title out of the park, however from a business point of view that is a smart move.
Have the next game (GOTG) ready but designed at multiple BOMs, wait and see just how good your competitions next game is and then go with the appropriate tiers to follow up their reveal.
Ultimately if JJP push Stern to make bigger and better LEs at their current price points, which I think are high enough at present it's a win win for all of us!

Terrible idea. Stern should just make the best game they can and price it accordingly.

Quoted from spfxted:

For an $8k game, those rights should not be a problem.

Agree. Applies to JJP’s $8500/$9500/$12500 game too.

Quoted from KozMckPinball:

Someone stated the JJP offered a factory installed playfield protector option on The Hobbit. If so, it can be done. I have done a lot of disassembly to install Cliffys and Mantis and Pinbits protectors, I'd just rather not do a top down disassembly to install or remove an wanted full playfield protector. However, I'd like the option to get one or not get one.

JJP offers it factory installed on all their games.

Quoted from pin2d:

Here are the rumors I've heard:
- The game is rumored to be shipping in November
- It is rumored the game will be at IAAPA in Orlando which takes place November 13-17th
- Rumors that John Borg designed it and Christopher Franchi is the artist
- Rumored to have three flippers
- Rumored to have three ramps
- Rumored to have a large Groot head that is possibly like Rudy on Funhouse and possibly eats pinballs
- Rumored that an upper flipper is used to hit the Groot head
- Rumored to have one of the best toppers ever
- Rumored to see the full reveal tomorrow

We’ll see, but why would we be slamming Groot in the face with balls? Isn’t he a good guy? Same thing as TF: why are we bashing Optimus in the nuts? I guess if you chose to play as a Decepticon that at least made some sense...

Quoted from flashinstinct:

Not only that but thicker clearcoat would make ghosting more likely to occur.

I don’t know about ghosting, but chipping is more likely.
