This time it will be a black knight for stern
Quoted from soapblox:I just hope we get another "dark night for STERN" thread out of this.
Power is usually low at shows and most companies don’t adjust for low power.
They should.
Quoted from Nokoro:Yeah, I’ve never understood that — why they don’t make them a bit more zippy at the shows. I play them and then try to imagine what they would be like to play with a little more power to see if I want to make a purchase. I often feel hesitant because I can’t get a good feel for the game and have to use my imagination.
The LE stands for Luxury Edition. Better?
Quoted from Pinhead1982:I was going to get a CE- but my main concern is like the other games JJP has released - they keep adding to the Editions
WOZ- Emerald, Ruby Red, Yellow Brick Road
Hobbit - Smaug, Black Arrow
WONKA- 50th Ann coming up- I see another edition coming.
5000 LE is not limited! They should be renamed.
Or just enjoy the game the way it is. That's what I would do.
Quoted from Vdrums:I think the crappy art on the SE is a great opportunity for someone to come up with a Radicals type art package, mirrored Backglass, blades, etc, not exactly Wonka but inspired by it and possibly much nicer art.
The SE played the same as the LE. Functionally you are only missing the ball lock mech (wonkavator). I'd say go SE if you are on the fence and want to save the money.
Quoted from delt31:Really interested to hear more about le vs se. I usually go le but se seems like the way to go. Would love to hear from people who weren't drinking the Kool aid going in to tell about their experience.
I find it hard to believe you got a Stern PRO and MBr for $9500, unless they were used and the PRO was older.
Quoted from PokerJake:I think JJP is pricing themselves out of competition. I picked up a new Stern pro and MBr for the same price as Wonka LE shipped. That's a no brainer. Although I would still like a Wonka, I'll consider it if/when the SE's hit the second hand market in the mid 6ks.
The wonkavator ball lock is the main difference between the SE and LE so no way would they add a virtual ball carry over.
I don't think it would make sense anyway.
Quoted from smalltownguy2:I did get a response from JJP about my request to have a "virtual" carryover of the wonkavator ball lock on the SE. It was merely a canned "thanks for your contribution" response. No idea if they're planning on doing it.
Fantastic stream. thanks for sharing!
Quick question: where can you see all 4 players scores on the display during gameplay? Seems you can only see the current player score?
Quoted from delt31:Just curious if you really banned kaneda from the stream? Seemed like he was just asking good questions about what was going on but just curious your side of the story?
Thanks for streaming.... Going to watch now.
EDIT great stream. Sound is coming in really loud and I like all of the different cameras.
Wow the announcer on this game is one of the worst I've ever heard. I really hope you can change that or they redo the call outs. Absolutely kills it. The effects are also already annoying me. Damn it JJP. Don't mess this one up!
Thank you! Now I see them!
Quoted from KingBW:The other players scores are right underneath the current player's score in a smaller font.
