I'm slowly repairing a Black Hole.
I'm having an issue where the ball release for the outhole locks on immediately at power up.

I am focusing my attention on the transistor that is mounted under the playfield that powers it.
However, the green wire that attaches to the casing appears to be wired wrong.
It is not wired the same as the others.

The worrying thing is that it worked fine up until a few days ago, so I really don't think it is wired wrong.

Can someone take a pic of the underside of their playfield and show how that transistor is wired?
Or just explain where the 3 wires connect to.

Here’s the two standalone transistors I could find under my BH upper pf, hope this helps.

That red/white wire goes from the case of the transistor to the non-banded side of the diode on the flipper coil... green wires. Correct?

There’s a fuse #16 before it gets to to trough gate coil, but I measure continuity between the left transistor lug in the pic to the fuses. Since it was working before, you sure the fuse is good?

The coil locks on immediately at power up, so the fuse is good. I will check it anyway just to rule it out.

I'll compare my wiring with yours and see whats up.

Did you add the recommended pull-up resistor to the under-pf transistors? Here's the Gottlieb service bulletin with instructions:

Wow looks like I should do both the resistor and the transistor changes to mine, thanks for the bulletin, never saw that before.
