Astro is one of my favorite AAB pins.
One of the few pins that made the trip north with me from California.
Prior to the move it was playing like a champ,
but in the move something happened when i set it up in my new basement.
Some of the features were not lighting or scoring properly, did some investigating
and the reset bank under the playfield
had jostled out of its proper position during the 800 mile move,
so I re-adjusted the setting fasteners on the bank.
That appears to solve most of the problems
and game went back to playing properly, but during one game i was nudging the machine
a bit and heard what i thought was a weird noise and then game was not playing properly again.
Rechecked what i had done before, but all looked OK.
Game would play, flippers work, ball launches, pop bumpers work, but
the 500 pts would not score, when target hit or roll over switches made
though STAR TREK lite inserts would light up when the appropriate target or lane was made, and i could add balls when scores were exceeded by preset score
and/or when WOWs lit.
Also game would not start up new game when start button pressed,
unless i cranked one click on the X relay.
Perplexed me for a good long while.
Well after giving up for a few weeks decided to play a few games on it;
again all the old symptoms were still present,
game plays but does not score anytime for 500 pts targets or rollovers,
though all the STAR TREK feature lights still worked properly.
But as i played it more and more, some how and some way, the game fixed itself, so it now plays and scores as it should. Probably a dirty switch that self cleaned itself or was gapped too far apart that now is making good contact, but swear i checked all those type switched three times over.
Only thing not yet working perfectly now, is starting a new game,
still need to dick with the (X) - credit hold relay.

Have you ever tightened all of the relay switch stacks?
That's the first thing to do when debugging an EM.

Yes, i have done that previously
but obviously some other switch stack some where is not open/closing
properly to activate that X Relay, to increment the ratchet.
Once i locate some schematics, hopefully can trace the path down.
also need to go thru and clean switches again, hopefully without
screwing up some other feature by accident.
