I just got a NIB Star Trek Premium and really want to put one of these awesome speaker panels on it (see pictures).
The gentleman (@kapsreiter) who created them has run out and needs at least 10 orders to run them again. I’m hoping that some fellow Star Trek owners would like one of these to dress up their pins since they are so gorgeous – nicer than the ones that Stern put on their LE model IMHO.
They are $141 after shipping for up to 3 pieces.
If you’re interested, please reply to this thread.

I would be in on this as well.

#3 6 years ago

I’m in.

#4 6 years ago

I would be in for this but would need shipping to the UK.

How are they applied? I have a Star Trek Pro. Has anyone, who already has one installed, managed to light up the Star Trek on a pro?

#5 6 years ago

He's shipping from Austria, so if he's shipping to the US I'm sure that he'll be able to ship to the U.K. I'm unsure how it attaches, but am assuming double sided tape or other adhesive.
As for lighting the logo he suggests EL paper which is cheap and available on Amazon and EBay.

#6 6 years ago

depending on how it attaches i could be in for one. My pro is on route so i know for me it needs to be stronger then double sided taped on.

#8 6 years ago

Yer half way there already!

#9 6 years ago

Count me in for one as well.

#10 6 years ago

Put me in for one!!

#12 6 years ago

How do they mount?

#13 6 years ago

I’m not sure how they mount. I’ve sent him a PM asking and I’m sure that he’ll respond soon. I’ll post his reply.

#14 6 years ago

hi

you can mount them easy with a double sided mirror tape like this

we coud also Remake

The double-sided tape option looks like the easiest mounting option. Of course you can opt to drill 4 small holes and mount this with small nuts and bolts or rivets like Stern does on theirs.

#16 6 years ago

would not drill it, you could scratch the Panel

for advanced users you could us EL paper for a nice light mod

#17 6 years ago

I'll take one also!!

#18 6 years ago

Can someone explain how you connect up the EL panel? I presume it goes into the back box?

#19 6 years ago

We have enought for the order!
kapsreiter is going to place the order to create these.
To all who have expressed an interest, you will be getting a PM from him soon.
If you are interested but have not replied to this thread, please do so quickly so that he can have one created for you.
Or you can just send him a PM and ask to be included.

One clarification please. Original post says $85 + $20 shipping. I'm assuming this is USD with the $ symbol. I saw another post (another thread) that talked about the price in Euros. Can you please clarify this because at today's exchange rate, $85 = 73 euros.

#21 6 years ago

i'd be in.

He’s checked with his manufacturer today to get info and begin the process. He said that the price of materials has risen since the last batch but he is going to try to do it for the same price for us. Sounds like a good guy!

He says that the tape he recommends is double-sided mirror tape. This is very strong and is used to hold large mirrors on walls. I don’t think you’ll have to worry about it at all even on route.

I mounted with screws and adhesive Velcro. Since I had the EL paper, I wanted to be able to remove it in case I needed to change/fix the el paper.

I liked the permanent look of the screws, but it does require drilling the speaker panel and the stainless. Have to be careful you don't scratch the stainless.

I used thin double sided tape cut out around the Star Trek words for the el paper then soldered longer thinner wires that go around the side of the speaker panel. There's just enough room and you can't see it.

El paper came from eBay. Be careful when they send it as they often just throw it in a satchel and it gets bent and is unusable. Get them to put it in a small box.

Is there a +12v source nearby for the EL paper?

#28 6 years ago

Hi. Please put me down for one. I definitely want to add one of these to my machine. Thanks

#29 6 years ago

Can someone please post a picture of the back of a speaker panel that has the EL paper for lighting? Along with pic of power source? I am having a hard time understanding how I can set this up. Thank you.

#30 6 years ago

hi

this el papers have at one end a cable
at this area it is bigger
so the best is to drill a big hole at this place and go with the cable inside the backbox

stern have a 12V connecter next to the TILT mech
