Quoted from RobT:Info please!
Kinda bummed that I missed out on the Hakko FX-888D group buy.
Just got off the phone with Tom and ordered both units + the A1007 tip for the 808.
You will need the other tip for the header pins.
Quoted from RobT:Got mine in the mail Friday. I used it to replace a bad transistor on my LOTR yesterday. What a great tool! Made desoldering a breeze! I got the Hakko soldering station too. Both are very high quality and work great!
Highly recommended.
Replaced a header with mine yesterday, no screwing around and it just fell out.
I should have bought one of these ages ago, my old Soldapult went right in the trash.
Haven't used the soldering station yet, soldered the new header in with my 936.
The A1007 tip fits right over the pins, you will need this for the header pins. The one that comes on the tool works for everything else.
Quoted from buffaloatx:Good deal, order placed.
I just ordered my 3rd one, my buddies glommed onto the other two.
Order the A1007 tip for the header pins the one that comes on the gun is too small.
Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:What about for changing a Q22 transistor? What size?
The tip that comes on the gun does bridges, ICs and transistors the A1007 does the bigger header pins and the caps.
