Seriously. I've been trying to decide whether to get one and work on my board, or send it out.
Hope he's happy, his joke made the sale but likely caused my poor board much pain and suffering.

The 808 is a great tool.
Those who are getting one - PLEASE remember to practice on some junk boards before putting your new tool on an aged, fragile, expensive pinball PCB that is no longer made.
Go to a thrift store, find an old clock radio or something that is more than 20 years old, and you'll have a perfect device to practice on.
Or, some other old junk board with through-hole parts.

This is a great idea. I was going to post to see if anyone had some old boards, but this might be cheaper.

Used one a lot and all I can think of is a smaller & wider tips. Think of it as one for pins and another for resistors or whatever.

Just got off the phone with Tom and ordered both units + the A1007 tip for the 808.
You will need the other tip for the header pins.
