I was on step 0 of installing a color DMD on my DE Jurassic Park and noticed a grounding braid issue.

For the connection from back box to DMD/speakers, One side is completely broken and the other is hanging on by a thread.

I will order new braid to repair what is there, but is the pin usable in the meantime? I didn’t see/hear/feel the braid breaking so my hunch is that it has been like this since I’ve owned the pin and it has been playing fine.

Advice appreciated. Thanks!

Remove the nut. Stick the frayed ends on the bolt. Put a big washer over them. Replace the nut. ( no washer - get as much under nut and tighten it )
