This may sound like a really silly question...but...

I decided to replace the speakers on my Attack from Mars
as the small tweeter was a bit dodgy.

I noticed when removing the left speaker that the ground
wire was screwed in to 2 of the mounting screws.
It's an odd wire with 4 plates.

2 red plates which are basically the ends of
the wire, and 2 blue plates with a wire running between them
and to the red ends.

3 of these plates were screwed to one corner while
1 of the blue plates was screwed to another.

I guess to me it would just make sense that the ground would
go from one of the speaker corners to the ground nut inside
the back box? Or is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

Ok...so on further inspection - i'm pretty sure this was wired incorrectly.

Maybe grounding isn't necessary - but i found an image on Flipper Fidelity's
site of the wiring perhaps multi-grounding with a cover over the back of the
display unit. I don't seem to have a cover over my board and certainly it isn't
grounded. The cable then does indeed appear to go to the box ground nut.

Found another image on google that appears to show both speakers grounded,
which i would have thought was not necessary.

Should i get a cover for the display panel? And should i bother grounding the other speaker?
That would then account for all 4 ends anyhow.

Ordered a DMD insulator anyhow.

Grounding everything metal in a pin is a safety feature.

If the speaker frames are metal, ground them.

If they are plastic, then they can't be grounded.
