I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. My AC/DC pro suddenly developed multiple issues that are somehow related, but I'm not sure how. The symptoms all began at the same time, though they don't always happen in the sequence I'm about to describe, and sometimes one symptom will occur without the others. They seem to be happening after an extended period of game play, not when you first power up the machine.

During game play the game will act like the ball just went down the drain (complete with correct sounds and flippers turn off briefly) even though the ball is still in play. If that was ball 3 and the game should have ended, it has automatically began a new game at least once. If a new ball is waiting to be shot onto the play field, but you don't promptly shoot it, a 2nd ball is sometimes ejected into the shooter lane, so there are now two waiting to be shot onto the play field.

Probably unrelated, but 2 days prior to the issues beginning, I installed under cabinet LED lighting. I used the 12V connector located just inside the coin door on the right side. Unplugging the new lights has had no effect on the gremlins.

There are no trouble codes looking through the service menu.

A friend suggested I start with connectors, so I have made sure every connector beneath the play field is firmly seated.

I put the newest firmware on the machine a few months ago. It is still up to date.

Thanks for any help!!

It’s your trough connections. Very common.

Pull and reseat the connections on your trough. Zip tie them for a tight fit.

Basically, the game thinks a ball is in the trough, so your ball ends. Conversely, it doesn’t know the ball is gone, so it launches another one.

It’s the connectors to the trough/ball eject. Common issue; reseat them and you should be good to go.
