I am just wondering, what would you consider the very best year of pinball releases?
I have my own opinion, but I don't want to sway others.
What year do you pick, and why?

Don't forget Stargate!
I have to go with 1993. Twilight Zone and Whitewater are in my top 3 pins, and there are some other fantastic games from that year as well. 1995 is good, but it doesn't have as many games I would consider favorites.
Quoted from mystman12:Don't forget Stargate!
I was deliberately not listing every pin from 1995, because I did not want to have to list Mario Andretti.
Quoted from mystman12:I have to go with 1993.
1993 was also great. My very first three pins were IJ and TZ and CFTBL (CFTBL is listed as 1992 but mine was built in March of 1993).
Quoted from RWH:Gottlieb and 1980 was the best for me.
A quick look at yours collection proves it! I love it!
Quoted from jawjaw:1992-1993. Nostalgia may have been a bias but games from the early 90's are pretty special.
I'm not sure if it is nostalgia or not...there are just some phenomenal high quality games in that era.
Early 90's up to -94 or so is the pinnacle of Pinball for me. Games past 2000 don't have the same feeling of "fun" and gets boring relatively fast while the old classics still make me want to play them over and over.
Voted 93 ofc.

You don't like any games past 2000??
Probably 1980 but 1981 was great as well, see below:

Fathom

I think that 80-81 was the best time for alpha numeric games and 92-93 was best for dmd.
I wonder what the best is (so far) for led? 2016? 2018?
1934 and 1935 with an honorable mention to 1954. Virtually every significant innovation in modern pinball had its genesis in 1934/35: ramps, kickers, habitrails, elevated transporters, subways, lights, bells, bonuses, gobble holes, multipliers, you name it.
1954 was an exceptional year for woodrails, universally recognized among pinball historians.
Naturally, pinball manufacturers released many noteworthy games in the decades to follow. Nevertheless, 1934/35 was the springboard of genius which created the hobby.
Quoted from Daditude:You don't like any games past 2000??
Very few games after 2000 appeal to me. The newer games look flashy but isnt that fun and get boring really fast.

Well, not that anyone born after 1985 is going to care or agree with me, but consider Gottlieb, 1954. Produced 13 titles, 10,000 games. No computers, no CAD, no fax, no copy machines. The first seven months of 1954 spit out half of the top ten 1950's pins.

Wow!
I knew there were probably some earlier years that were spectacular, but I am not as familiar with pins from that area. I am, however, familiar with several you listed. Thanks for your post!
