Steven Cobert is a huge LotR nerd. Check out his homage to the first films 20th Aniv with the hobbits.

Greatest Trilogy! Greater than Harry Potter/Godfather/Star Wars/BTTF/Mad Max/007/Toy Story/Pitch Perfect/Indiana Jones/Batman/Twilight/Free Willy/Mighty Ducks/Davinci Code/Blade/Beverly Hills Cop/Nake Gun. No mention of Alien? Guess it didn't rhyme.

I hate declaring anything "the best" but I do give props to the Lord of the Rings trilogy - It helps that they're stylistically and tonally consistent, and you can tell they were made with a lot of love.

Count me in as a big LOTR fan. Haven't read enough of others to say
its the best.

Terminator was a trilogy for quite a while

The are only three Indy films, hence Indy wins.

Van Halen, Van Halen II, Woman and Children First.

Back to the Future

I've watched the Naked Gun movies for decades. I'm still finding stuff I've never seen before by concentrating more on the background.

#20 2 years ago

First 3 Indiana Jones for me.

Evil Dead I + II + AOD

I think these are some of the best trilogies in Rock:

The Cure:
"Pornography"
"Disintegration"
"Bloodflowers"

David Bowie "Berlin Trilogy":
"Low"
"Heroes"
"Lodger"

Mastodon "Elements Trilogy":
"Remission"
"Leviathan"
"Blood Mountain"

Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead
and/or….Toy Story

Thanks Neal that was great! Star Wars 4, 5, and 6 for me until Peter Jackson made these gems.

#25 2 years ago

BTTF - just for pure fun

LOTR - All 3 were just awesome movies

Star Wars 4,5,6 - just cause I'm a Gen X

#26 2 years ago

The Godfather. 2 is the best of all time. 1 is a top 10 movie. 3 is TERRIBLE but there was such a lead going into the third The Godfather eeked it out.

#27 2 years ago

1…Another vote Star Wars 4 5 6
2…LOTR
3…Indiana Jones

I recall when I thought it would be amazing, if not impossible for a third book to tie this all together.
Now I think it will be amazing, if not impossible that a third book will ever exist.

Star wars 4, 5, 6. Not only because they are great movies but back then it became the bar to reach in term of special effects. Look at sci-fi visual effects before star wars and after. Industrial light and magic made some other movies great because of the awesome special effects. Terminator 2 comes to mind.

Also in episode 5 (the empire strikes back, my favorite) is so original and dark. A movie where the bad guys dominated from the beginning to the end. That was very gutsy and original. And the I'm your father moment will never be beat as long as I live as a in your face surprise. Jaw dropping moment.

He’s unreal .He had all 3 written while in college .Lionsgate had it set up for the big screen and a prequel on Showtime but was scraped with Covid .It will get there .It’s still a hot property for sure .They just need to pull Patrick out of the DnD tourneys until he’s finished .

The Godfather.

I think the weakest link is Godfather III. But I think also that it has withstood test of time and history is kinder to it than it was received.

Still, a classic choice for GOAT.

I thought this was going to be about Comet/Cyclone/Hurricane, Elvira, Black Night...
