I gotta thumb you up on that one because I didn't waste the $75 and go to the Rose Bowl that day. And I don't have the heart to show Marcus Allen's run the next year.

But this one should make a few Cowboys fans happy. I got another one just like it.

I don't care much Dallas sports as a rule, but I was routing for them that year against Labron for sure.
Believe I watched the final game in a cabin @ Mammoth Caves no less. Good times.

Upvote for Eddie Belfour. I was so happy for him when they won.

EDIT: You mean turning point of AFC; that's fair.

Yeah buddy, it was some of the most jumping up and down in a room I had seen when he did that and gave the idea they were gonna win it this time no matter what. Right up there with Tyree's catch in Super Bowl XLII. A moment of glory where the outcome is there determined.

Just scrolling through these posts and seeing that most are sports related or something else even more ridiculous really is all the proof I need to understand that children are not being taught US History. It makes this Proud American really sad that this is what you think are Great Moments in American History. I'm not saying they aren't great moments in sports history but when it comes to American History......? Cmon man.....What about the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk? Civil Rights Act? Women given the right to vote? The first Automobile? Freeing the slaves? Declaration of Independence? Those are great moments in American History!

Last I checked they are mostly already there, tough guy. I was saving the Declaration to the next 4th of July.

We had some Russian exchange students in the late 80s.

You can best be assured that the supermarket was one of the things that blew their minds.

That and the Stones concert

I thought it was after the Chernobyl meltdown, that the Soviet Union started to unravel. But, America is a proud country and likes to take credit for things that happen in other parts of the world.

Even when the Berlin Wall came down.

(USA tops the list, natch)

Also here's a somewhat underappreciated one:
The United States under Woodrow Wilson urging the other countries not to impose harsh war debts on Germany at the Treaty of Versailles after WWI. If he had been successful, he might well have prevented WWII.

Added over 3 years ago:

Edit: Having researched the matter further, my knowledge of the Treaty of Versailles may be a little dubious. Don't blame me, blame my history teacher.

The Forever stamp, what a rip-off!
I bought one. Used it just the one time. It certainly didn't last forever.

I'm sure we'll all remember the day when freedom as we once knew it rides off into the sunset. But, perhaps we will get to see the fireworks at least one more time before it does.

Could this be moderated? It seems alittle political.

Today seems like a great moment in American History! What a beautiful day, sunshine, snowflakes, and freedom!

I’m gonna celebrate by cramming 3 filet o fish down my pie hole and getting blackout drunk. As long as I have the freedom to do those things, I think it’s gonna be ok!

Isn’t the first ever women elected Vice President, great and historic? Definitely worth a mention.
