Along your same lines, the game I own that I've fallen for is Andromeda. I would class it with fathom and centaur as well. Probably not too many have had an opportunity to play one as it's quite rare but the art, gameplay, rules, variety in shots are all there. Although it's not a cheap buy like fireball, it's fantastic.

It and my fathom, when finished, will be the games that will never leave.

Another that I don't own but can be had cheap is future spa. To me, it's a little better than paragon (maybe because it's a tad easier) and an outstanding buy.
