Once again turning to Pinsiders for help because I’m stumped. If you turn off the power to the game. Start a new game. None of the kick outs will work including the outhole. Until you manually push any number of relays including out hole, eject, left advance, right advance. Once you do that all of the kick outs work no matter how many balls, or games are played. It is only when the power is turned off then back on that there is a problem. I’m wondering if it’s capacitor related?

Check the Game Over relay.

How far does it get through the Reset Cycle on page 4 of the manual?

Will check game over relay tonight. It seems to get all the way through, as scores reset, and kicks a ball into the trough. But when the ball is fired no kick outs work. Until one of the mentioned relays fire. Then will work fine on all subsequent new games as long as the power is not turned off.

I thought there was a shooter lane or trough switch that had to be activated prior to that stuff being activated.

Switch D might not be making, and/or A.

Don't think there is a trough switch on this one, will double check.

Checked motor 4D, but have cleaned a switch before only to discover hadn't cleaned it well enough. But would that account for it only happening when you switch power off?

And thank you all for the input. Hope to get back to it tonight after work.

Fixed, for now, I hope. Looked at and re-cleaned contacts in game over relay. Looked at and re-cleaned contacts in motor stacks 3 and 4. All looked properly adjusted, and used most aggressive cleaning file, fairly lightly, on contacts. Game works fine. But still have a nagging feeling it might come back. Thanks for the suggestions and help, as always Pinsiders come through with good help and pointers.
