Hi all, one of the score reels on my grand prix appears to be overheating. I replaced the coil once, because when I got the pin the wires going to this score reel had all the insulation burned off and the coil was fried. a month later I notice where this reel looks like it stops scoring, or does not reset to zero while playing the pin.

I looked at the coil and it looks like it has overheated. The paper is not burnt off the new coil is just slightly deformed.

So my question is, has anyone experienced this? and what do I look for to correct it. I have seen this reel get stuck, I do not know if its the mechanical aspects of the reel or because the new coil has seen more heat than what it should.

Quoted from chad:

Check your stand up switches and any of them behind the rubber rings and see if they are stu k closed.

If they were wouldn't that cause the score relay (depending on the points) and score reel to fire?

This makes sense, The switch is not broke, but if the nylon slide does not always return to the EOS than that could be an issue. I am going to take everything apart and check for freedom of movement when I add my new coil. I will also check EOS switch again.

The reel looks like its struggling some time to advance or reset if that makes any sense.

Thanks!
