    Quoted from rockwell:

Unless this was explicitly laid out in some sort of order confirmation email, nobody would ever understand that to be the case. A shipment notification means (or should mean) that your item has shipped, or is prepped for shipping and on the verge of pickup/dropoff (ie a day or two). A shipment notification that doesn't mean that is a mismanagement of customer expectations. And why people come here hunting for answers.

Do you not buy online much?

A tracking number being created means just that - it's been created. Which means a shipment has been created - it doesn't mean it's been shipped.

What you describe is your expectation based on most people not creating shipments until they are actually shipping the package. Unfortunately that is not how all vendors operate and it's quite common (and annoying) when they do this early creation - but it's common.

Buy from overseas and see just how abused that practice really is...

    Quoted from rockwell:

Shipping notices acting as "your order is in progress" status updates is nonsensical.

    Well good luck fighting that!

Yeah, I dunno. Maybe I'm out of touch even though it's what I spend my whole life doing
I think this thread is a perfect example of what happens when people make a purchase online and get a shipment notification with a tracking number and nothing moves. Cuz, surprise!, when you get a shipment notification you expect it to be on its way.
It's been fun, but gotta run! Lots of packages to ship before the day is up

Getting a tracking number assigned != shipment notification... but we've already established that.

I agree. Thanks for not leaving Pinside. We just want your business to succeed. Without Rottendog I think there's only one other reliable source for OEM spec replacement boards (Dumbass). We definitely need more options.

    dumbass for president!

the guy has already admitted he does not have the capacity or tooling to made the product correctly. "testing" does not mean it's done correctly... just it worked "enough" for a period of time. This improperly soldered stuff should not be sold as complete product. Full Stop.

There is no need for anything more for new buyers - don't. There are better alternatives in both raw and populated formats.

well with the deeproot auction happening... maybe the OP can buy the required equipment needed for throughhole production soldering

    Quoted from Tophervette:

Just saw a youtube video of him sitting in his booth at the Texas Pinball in Dallas. A couple large boards and a small wire harness on his folding white table.

At least there people can see the shotty product first hand

    Quoted from PinballManiac40:

Friend bought 2 WPC MPU boards at TPF. One worked and one has switch errors, along with a dead row of insert lamps, and at least one non-working coil.

Friends don't let friends buy from Pinball Basement
