Line Drive was the highlight of the show for my daughter. Thanks for bringing it!

#207 7 years ago

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the main pinball tournament. We ended up with 36 people playing in the Quad Strike. Congrats to the Birmingham players, who cleaned house in all three events we had from Friday night through last night.

Safe travels to everyone headed back home today. And don't forget to avoid the Embassy Suites across the street that was evacuated due to a guest barricading themselves in their room and making threats. I'm glad we aren't at THAT hotel!

You are very welcome glad it was enjoyed. I had to keep feeding it quarters as could not figure out free play on 1969 EM

Thanks for playing!

Wasn't able to make it out until Sunday for a couple of hours due to some family things. Just wanted to thank all of the people that brought games. For a smaller show there was a ton of top titles and most were in extremely nice condition. Hopefully this can be something that happens again next year and continues to grow.

#210 7 years ago

I'm just getting in from hauling our second load back. I want to thank Dave for putting this together and for letting me be a part of it. Also, thank you to everyone who came out, especially those that traveled in from out of town! My absolute favorite thing about these things are the relationships I get to make with so many new "friends for life" and old friends that it's just nice to get to hang out with and catch up. We really are blessed to have a good community of folks within our hobby. I'm worn out but excited at the same time, lol. Here's a few pics I also posted on the pinballplating.com thread and a few extras, enjoy!

I had a big time this weekend! Thanks to everyone who came out! Nice to see some old friends and meet new ones!

#212 7 years ago

All of us from B'ham had a great time! Finally got to meet Buddy(doughslinger) and Chris(sc93cobra). Special thanks to David Yopp for stepping up to run the tourney. We even had a couple side tourneys late on Friday and Saturday(split flippers and team competition). For those who were unable to attend, the games were plentiful and the lines were almost nonexistent. There were some great titles and even quite a few duplicates like 3 MMR's, 2 Congos, 2 BDK's, 2 I-500's, 2 GNR's, etc. Dialed In was a blast! I counted 70 pins and at least that many video games.

Here are a few pics! Be sure to look at the last one!

516M?!?

#214 7 years ago

Yes, I witnessed it with my own eyes. Tim is a great player, ranked 205 in world right now. He had one extra ball. Sos, into Portal with 2x going. Then battled all the way back to a second SOS and a second Portal! He also got Daft Punk MB and about 4-5 Light Cycles. One end of ball bonus was 35M and the next bonus was 55M! It was insane. The games lasted about 45 minutes. I played 3 full games on BDK while he played this one game.

#215 7 years ago

Who brought the big guns? Was that for sale? Sorry I missed this! Hopefully I can make it next year!

Agree 100%. My hubby and I drove in from Atlanta and spent some quality time with you Chris and your fabulous daughter Gracie. Had a wonderful time. We absolutely LOVED playing your MM - it was beautiful and so much fun to play. Loved your AFM as well. Really looking forward to seeing you at this event again next year and also hope to see you at SFGE. :0)

At least one of those was not a remake -- It was great to hang with you, yell at me anytime if I can do anything for you!

Had so much fun hanging with you guys and sharing stories. So grateful to have met you guys and look forward to hanging more! Gracie smiled when I read her the post! See you guys soon!

My wife and I flew in from Dallas for the show. We regularly go to the Texas Pinball Festival (it is only a few miles from my house) and Florida Free Play. My daughter moved to Franklin this year, so we came to the Grand Ole Game Room Expo as an excuse to visit her. All three of us really enjoyed the show. It was quieter than the other shows and we were able to play most games without a wait. All the games that were there were in really good shape (whoever had the Junkyard did a really nice job shopping it out). There were several games I had never played before that we really liked (Last Action Hero and Circus Voltaire in particular). It was a very nice show. I hope to be back next year.

I too enjoyed myself at the expo. I stayed in the parking lot friday and saturday nights in my tan camper van. It was a blast.

Thanks to everyone who brought games. Especially, the older games like the gun shooter game and the EM's. You just don't get to play the older games much anymore ...unless you buy one for yourself.

Also, whoever brought the beautiful AFM, DM and CV.... wow, those games were impeccable. I'm not sure I'd have brought the AFM if it were mine because it was so perfect and well modded. But, thanks a million for letting us play some top notch games like those.

Thanks to Larry for bringing dialed in.

Man, if I had known you liked my games that much, I would have asked to come hang in that sweet van you have! That thing is awesome!

Who else had never seen an original Medieval Madness before the show? Plays fantastic and had quite a good game on it.

That makes me feel a little better about beating Tim on Power Play with a last ball 5x Bonus.

I had a great time at the show. There were a lot of nice games and very few people which I'm sure will change in the coming years. I got there about 10 o clock on Friday and played till 4 AM. Learned a lesson there. My legs were sore the rest of the weekend. Luckily they had some strategically placed chairs for the tourney.

Thanks to David Yopp for organizing the tourneys. Thanks to Chris for showing me his warehouse raid. Thanks to all of the tourney players who were very nice. Some of them even let me beat them.

Maybe I'll see you guys next year.

Already have my room reserved, just need to buy our weekend passes. My daughter is already putting in her request to take 1/2 day off that Friday to go to the show. We are looking forward to another great show this year.

Does anyone have any idea whether a JJP dealer might be at the 2017 show and possibly bring the JJP 4? How about Spooky bringing a TNA? Wanting to get a feel if this show is a "big" enough show to bring in dealers with the new games.

My understanding is the Marco will be there this year with a lot of new Stern models to play. Not sure if Larry and Donna will be back with JJP and Chicago Gaming.

Larry is planning on being there, but not sure about jjp4. There is a chance it might not even make expo.

#228 6 years ago

Flip N Out Pinball (Donna and I) will be there for sure.
Depending on what games are available we are dealers for Stern, JJP, Chicago Gaming and American Pinball. So if there is a new game out chances are good we will have it at the show. We also sell Escalera hand trucks so I think we have it pretty well covered.
Let us know if you want us to bring you a game and save shipping

The site logo needs to be updated to show 2017.

Show update. JJP Pirates of the Caribbean will NOT be there. Unfortunately there are two shows in FL that will have the game instead. Last year I had to drive the game to Florida so it would be there on Monday. I cannot do that this year so no POTC.

However we will have at least 10 new Sterns for folks to play and buy to take home. Also NIB games available as well for the show. Contact us now so you can reserve your game. Show specials on show games. Still trying to get Houdini there so stay tuned for that.

Is there a buying/selling games list for the show?

Any Stern that is in current production will be available if I get advanced notice to have one there.

Will Houdini be there?

#234 6 years ago

What about Total Nuclear Annihilation?

#235 6 years ago

Trying to get Houdini. Just don't know yet.

I am not a distributor for TNA so can't answer that one.

Quoted from parsonsaj:

What about Total Nuclear Annihilation?

If I get my TNA by then I plan on bringing it. It will just depend on Spooky's production timeline.
