Been looking over some areas of my SF2 pin and I'm pretty sure this part is incomplete/busted.

Looking at the manual it's supposed to be a gate, which makes sense but for the life of me I can't find any online.

Part numbers are possibly #23410 & #26898

Always thought it was an ingenious little thing but had no idea why heh.

May have to do without or makeshift for now...
