Bought a Bad Girls in working condition, got it home and the displays wouldn't turn on. Re-pinned the data connector cable from the mpu to the display, and cleaned the connection tabs on the MPU with a fiberglass brush. All voltages at the display are correct.

Now the displays work, but they are extremely dim. So dim you can't read them unless you're in a pitch black room.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

And I don't think its a ground issue, since BG was one of the few Gottlieb Premiers that grounded everything correctly to the power supply with no molex connectors in between.

I'm at a loss, any help is appreciated.

EDIT: The display seems to get brighter after its been turned on for awhile. Its OK, in a dark room, but no dice in a well-lit area.

For anyone interested, I re-tinned the connectors from the power supply board, and replaced two bad caps on the display itself. One was a 10uf, the other was the big 470uf. Not sure what did the trick, but the displays are now bright enough to read, at least in a dim room. I'm not sure you'd be able to read them in a sunlit room. Wonder if I should try the 9v battery "recharge" trick whereby you put 9v across the displays for 20 seconds. Any thoughts are appreciated.
