I'm completing the ground mods on my System 80A. I removed the A24 connector from the CPU board. It came off cleanly but I noticed the connector was missing one pin. I could not find it anywhere so I'm not sure if it was damaged by the previous owner or maybe came that way?

How much of any issue is this missing pin? From what I've read the game can work with the reset board removed completely.

I've seen replacement A24 cables for System 80B but not for 80A. If needed, where could I get a replacement?

None at all. I always take the reset board off. If everything is fused correctly it won't matter if something locks on it'll just blow the fuse.

If you remove the reset board you should check to see if you need to add a resistor on the back of the MPU board. The mod id mentioned on pinwiki.com in the System 80 section.

Basically add a 3.0K 1/4 watt resistor to the back of the board when not using the reset board.

Could you not just insert the resistor into the socket at pins 7 and 11?
