Gottlieb System 3 MPU - all chips bad. CPU & VIA chip replacements?

    The 65C22 VIA's from Western Digital Centre won't work in system 3 boards. Here is a link with legit NOS VIA's:

    Explanation of the flash sequence:

    - one looooong flash -> test is running
    - one short flash -> sram tested okay. This flash is preambled by some blurry activity on the LED connected to the addressline
    - a burst of 2 short flashes -> VIA U4 is responding and Timer IRQ tests passed
    - a burst of 3 short flashes -> VIA U5 is responding and Timer IRQ tests passed

    Then the LED starts to flash continiously. You can test the Watchdog now and the inputs for the switch matrix and special switches (slam, test, ....).
    You can also observe selection signals for the latches which are hooked to the databus. These latches are providing the data for the display and driverboard.
