Hey guys n gals.

I still haven't gotten around to sorting out the grounds on my SF2, (I know I know!) and as the machine has started behaving oddly I'm planning to do as such.

Now I reckon I know the answers I'll get but what's everyone's preferred method?
I assume crimping to the transformer but being in the UK I'm unsure of sizes, don't have many places to buy and don't want to order online only for the sizes to be wrong.

I see that Marvin's old guide notes that he soldered the bundles together as an alternative. I have an iron already and generally prefer solder than crimping.
Is this satisfactory to most? What's your opinion?

The only issue I can see is down the road the board may lose connection to the chassis one way or another, rendering it moot.

Cheers for any input.

Acting up? System 3 is usually solid...whats the issues?

Heh well I'm sure as heck hoping it's ground causing it, else it's probably previous acid damage

Just some oddities. A couple of times rollovers didn't register, test mode froze at the initial screen the other day and turning it on and off didn't resolve initially. And a few more little things I can't remember.

Try this: http://www.flippers.com/gottlieb_ground_cures.html
This differs a bit from Clay's technique, which is to strip all the ground wires and solder them all together...keeping the old connectors in place (which is the core of the issue).
John's technique is what I used on my SYS3 (Stargate).
Best of luck!

Yea that's kind of my preference atm. Did it seem to 'hold up' well/were you worried the circuit board itself would eventually lose connection to the plate?

Seems like a daft topic I know but just got the general gist that most prefer crimped connections.
