Gottlieb, 1978Am I able to use a 47uf 100v in place of the original C8 10uf 160v cap on a Gottlieb System 1 powerboard.
It is called out on Pinwiki as a suitable replacement although I wanted to check. The voltage should be ok based on the circuit.

In a DC voltage smoothing circuit, the higher capacitance is better. However, I am suspicious about the lower voltage rating. Dropping from 160 to 100 is fairly substantial and depends on the operating conditions.

C8: Radial Electrolytic 47uF, 100 Volt. 60V output. Note: The original part called for a 160v capacitor, however, since the voltage on this line typically only ranges from 54V to 66V, a 100v capacitor can be used without any problems (and is easier to source).
