Having trouble with the chimes on my Joker Poker. When the game first fires up, the chimes work great, after it's been on awhile, the chimes get very weak. If i swap in another chime unit from one of my other games, it seems to be ok (granted i haven't left it in there to see if it fade as well).

I've checked all the coil resistances and they look good. I replaced all the diodes with new ones. I also went through and did a full PBR chime rebuild kit. So short of replacing the coils themselves, i'm at a loss.

Just curious if anyone has seen that before, and if there is anything else i could try before i spend $30 or whatever on 3 new chime coils.

Thanks!

No haven't had time to really dig into it.

You should be able to ground the transistor and that will fire the cool. I assume you took the chimes apart and everything moves freely?

I rebuilt the chime unit and the knocker and everything works now. I guess I need practice at measuring coil resistance or something.

Saying you put new coils in?

OP...have you installed the ground updates to the board set?

yes new coils and the rebuild kits from pbresource. works like a champ.
I don't have a tumbler yet so used some simple green and a scotch brite pad to clean up the housings and chimes. they are now the shiniest components in the pin and they sound great.
What i didn't like was the foam pad in the kit. i would prefer original grommets over the pad. I couldn't save mine because they were too dry.
I also reused all the plungers, c
just cleaned then with the scotchbrite too.
should have done this first, as i bought a driver board and didn't need it. anyone want a new one?

Ok sounds good, i did a full rebuild kit on my chime and i still have the issue. I redid all the diodes as well, so obviously it's the coils. I'll go ahead and order new ones.

I agree i don't care of the foam pad either, i like the original rubber grommets.
