Just wanted to start a thread to document my various System 1 restorations. Since i seem to have a System 1 problem of late.

Current projects stacked up at the time of starting this thread.

1) Full/complete Joker Poker restoration
2) Count-Down
3) Sinbad playfield swap

Count-Down

Project pin i just picked up last week. Had been looking for one and couldn't pass it up. Had no boards and didn't fire up. Once i got it home, i repinned every single CPU/MPU connector and a couple of the driver board connectors. That resolved the displays not working at all and took care of most everything else. I should have taken pictures of the pins i pulled out, they were green and half of them were broken, worst i had seen.

The outhole coil was burnt to a crisp, and so was the knocker. So I ordered new coils from PBR and got those this week, I just replaced those last night and that was the last of the functions to get the game working. I stripped down the playfield, cleaned it up really good, and then carnauba waxed it and put all new rubbers on it. Plays great now.

Just got done putting in full LED's for the inserts a few hours ago, looks nice, but maybe a little bright.

Nice burnt coil...

Here is the playfield lit up with LED's, only inserts, no GI

Here are a few pictures of the Joker Poker. This will look nothing the same, once i'm done. I've got a new stencil kit for it and a CPR playfield and BG for it.

Here is when i got my sinbad playfield, i'll grab some better overall pics, but it's in fantastic shape and doesn't have the planking that my current one does.

This is right when i got it and it's nasty dirty.

Here is partially polished, looking good so far... haven't finished polishing it yet.

Is that a NOS or just really well touched-up playfield? Which game is that, I don't recognize that one...

Quoted from DK:

Good stuff! I love seeing these era of games come back to life!

The Joker Poker is going to be something special once i finish it, should look and play brand new.

Oh i also forgot, i primarily run Pascal boards in everything. I've ran both the older Ni-Wumpf and the Mark II, but Pascal's boards take the cake by far, better programming, better diagnostics and better gameplay. I have another all-in-one and a stand-alone CPU on the way, whenever they finally show up.

Looks like Genie

Ah, could be... sometimes when you see them apart, you forget which machine it is. Well at least i do... I haven't seen or played a Genie either..

I'm an addict too.
My JP is waiting for a CPR playfield swap and I'm currently working on Sinbad.
Does anyone happen to have a playfield scan of Count-Down? My girlfriend needs some cosmetic surgery/waterslide decals.

Too funny, i have CPR playfield for JP sitting here, and i'm working on another playfield for Sinbad right now as well..

I could probably get you a scan of my Count-Down, it's not perfect, but it's better than yours!

Quoted from iwantansi:

Someone buy my Genie!

Do you have it listed on the market?

#27 8 years ago
Quoted from OTTOgd:

If you don't mind sending me a proper scan, that would be awesome!
I'm sure I can return the favour somehow.

I can try to see what i can get, might take me a few days to find the time. Not entirely sure how to scan it without stripping the PF (which i don't feel like doing)

I could for sure at least take some super nice pictures that you could work with, but i'll go for a scan as well.

Nail on the outside? that seems wrong...

The wood looks a bit torn up as well, which happens when some of those guides are pulled out, if they have the notch thingy on them. Made that mistake a few times.

wow that playfield is in great shape... i know someone who would pay for that!

thanks for the thread resurrection, forgot i had this thread! I'm almost done repainting Joker Poker. Playfield is done. I also finished restoring my Sinbad last year, so that looks like new.

Pascal boards are the only ones I run and recommend, the Ni-Wumpf don’t even come close.
