Pinsider Erak came over on the weekend to troubleshoot no sound on my Raven & one of the bridge rectifiers tested bad. I did some reading & it looks like they're 30 amp 400 volt with lug connectors. Is there anything special I need to ask for when ordering?

[edit]: Whoops, just noticed you're in Canada. Basically any bridge rectifier that meets (or preferably exceeds) those specs should work fine.

I always put in larger rectifiers than the factory.

So you might get the 50A version when you order.

Thanks guys. I'll call the local supplier now.

Called the local place & they have to order them at $15 each.
Newark has them for $4.32:

I'll order some of these.

The link you posted is for 1000+ pieces.

Here is the link correct link, BUT 5,28 CAD is much too expenisve imho.

1000 volt's okay?
Edit: Do the voltage & amperage not matter as long both are at least the minimum?

#9 8 years ago

If you somehow get more than 1000 volts into your machine, the bridge rectifiers will be the last of your worries.

1000v is the voltage limit, you will never get anywhere near that.

I called the local store & a 40a 1000v bridge rectifier is $20!
I checked on amazon.ca & they have this rectifier for $2.92 with free shipping:

I'm going to go with that since I'm also looking at a new soldering iron:
