Anyone ever had a sys3 startup, do attract, then freeze some of the controlled lamps locked on? In attract or a game there are additional random lights + 2 full columns. Seems to happen after 2-5 minutes of being on so feels like a board issue due to heating up.

In test it locks on to 2 (columns) of the lamp matrix. Is this bad sockets/bad diodes or driver/MPU? Game actually plays fine you just don't have control lamps.

I tested the related transistors on driver board and they seem fine. Checked every controlled lamp socket for shorts and bad diodes. Checked the fuseholder F7. Checked the 20v bridge that supplies the driver board and it tested fine and supplies solid 20 even when the lamps lock on. 5v is solid. Ribbon from MPU to driver is brand new.

Trying to figure out how to troubleshoot further. Want to make sure I rule out the playfield and narrow to driver or mpu or both. Theory of operation indicates could be driver U5 then latched with U6/U7 and comparators U10/U11.

First image is when it locks on in game and additional lamps mess up. Second are the columns that lock on when in individual lamp test mode (same every time)
