One of my kiwi buddies has a Gottlieb Stargate he is trying to bring back from the dead.

It has a heap of art missing.

I suggested we print up a full overlay and clear over the top.

Anyone out there got a good scan of a playfield they could send me?

Cheers!

Thanks for that, I didn’t know ...

The problem for us down here - his playfields are $1000 USD which is $1600 NZD - add in some more for shipping and maybe some tax as well, and you have a $2000 piece of $40 plywood.

The whole game is probably worth $3000 so not really viable to do a new PF, unless you wanted to keep your Stargate for the rest of your life ...

That scenario applies equally to all pins down here, btw - unless they’re an Addams, MM, TZ etc you got cheap (doesn’t happen!), the PFs are prohibitively expensive ...

I would suggest waiting for someone in the us who is doing a playfield swap, the old pf would probably be cheap.

I'm about to restore mine but the problem is that takes much works...already scan all the playfield but also need scan off the bottom left playfield and the pyramid entrance. I will probably paint other parts. 1st scan of the playfield was made with old varnish and is really sad so I sand all the 2nd layer (on top) and let the 1st at some places to avoid sanding paint.
Will made a scan soon to made retouching with computer and probably print some parts around the old mylar who are too sad.
1st picture: parts needed
2nd picture: wax on the left and dirty varnish on the right

That’s a great idea - I can ship it out of Los Angeles or even put it inside one of the Spooky pins when it leaves Benton.

Any hookups, let me know ...

Here is a link of an old and poor quality Stargate playfield scan on pinside forum

Here is the scan link: http://www.vpforums.org/uploads/dsfiles/img-248-1346617410.png

The only one find on the web, that I will probably use for the bottom left ejector...

Good scan - I wonder if there is a hi-res of it floating around?

There is also a reference to another one (maybe the same one?) in that thread - but I can't access it.

So I 've just paint white parts and scan all the playfield after but the size of the picture is really huge so I could not post it.

I'll made computer retouch and print left and right entrance on the top and probably under Quartz entrance. Also the bomb and sarcophagus ejector on the bottom left.

I've not began retouch so tell me what parts you need to know where to start.

I know this is quite an old Post but I thought I'd ask here anyway. Is there by any chance a Hi-Res playfield Scan of Stargate?

Quoted from CaptainNeo:

I only have scans in sections

Would you be able to send me these scans? I have a Stargate in pretty good condition, but it's a game I intend to keep for a very long time, and I'm trying to future-proof for the eventual need to restore.

PM me and then email me, so I can send you scans. If the scans would allow me to just upload to this thread, I would, but the files are too big for pinside.
