Well you live in CA so that will probably be legal soon.
Quoted from practicalsteve:My god, I think I want to ask for that playfields hand in marriage....
Looks great! Where's the rest of the game?
Did you make the stencils yourself or buy them?
Quoted from thierryv:Omg, that PF would be great in my restored cabinet

Hopefully not TOO fast
Quoted from blownfuse:I'll be watching this one, it will look beautiful. That game is going to play super fast and crazy with those clear coated NOS playfields.

System 80, not just a job, it's an adventure
Well after my restoration is done i'll either be selling it or the super nice original Spirt i have sitting next to it I only need 1 right?
Quoted from rgb635:Man i would kill to have a spirit!!! Awesome game and sound effects! Trudeaus finest..i have a Genesis & TX Sector but Spirit is the almighty king!!!
Yep my PM box filled up pretty quick. Just to clarify once more, I'll be selling or trading one of the two machines. Either the fully restored one or the beautiful original one. Going to put them side by side to see which I prefer. I'll also have a pretty nice set of Playfields being pulled that will be available.
Next week the Playfields go on the rotisseries, and the cabinet gets stripped.
Quoted from TigerLaw:Let the line (or dog pile, as the case may be) begin.
Now who's got a Krull, King Pin, King Kong, Big Foot or LockNess Monster they'd like to trade. (Partial trade that is)
Update! Starting this up again.
Scanning sides to create stencils.
Beginning playfield swap.
Looking for Gottlieb flipper bats.
Yep.
Quoted from rvdv:Any chance you can make a good scan of the "Bonus " word ?
I need to make a decal / airbrush in
Old play fields will be on Ebay tonight.

Also, when this game is done I'll either be selling it or the other one I have which is in beautiful original condition.
Quoted from thierryv:I,ll bet you dare not to play it once the restoration is done, such a shiny playfield !
Just my two cents but I think the two small rubbers you have placed on the metal posts ( upper playfield ) aren't required ...
yeah, probably overkill.
Good point, I'll think about it.
Quoted from Arcane:Painting the inside with a dark color does not help when it comes to maintenance. I like the wood color or white/beige.
At least you can find parts and screws that may fall at the bottom of the cabinet.
Yves
Beautiful!
Quoted from thierryv:Nice ! Doing the same job on the other side off the ocean
But of course, muchacho!
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Can I put my name in the hat or stand in line...pretty please!
Probably
Quoted from TigerLaw:Gorgeous.
Gosh, can't imagine what the restored one will bring in. It'll be a lot.
Not a fan of Ebay. Not sure yet. If i let the restored one go, i would actually prefer a trade toward something i really want.
Krull Pinball
Lockness Monster Pinball
KingPin Pinball
King Kong Pinball
Quoted from TigerLaw:How do you plan to handle the sale protocols? eBay?
No, sorry for the confusion. I'm working on both of them at the same time. Both are getting LEDs, new glass, legs, NOS plastics.
#1 is getting the full blown restoration. Pretty much new everything.
#2 is getting a deluxe shop job. With some new and NOS parts.
Leaning toward selling the restored one but it's very difficult to decide because it's so nice.
Quoted from TigerLaw:So you are restoring both of them fully?
Pretty much got it all put back together. Still have a couple issues to figure out. 2 or 3 stand up targets are registering hits but not being recognized by the software (not scoring). And can't get into test now. The button used to work but now its not doing anything - ARGG!!
Like 15 or 16. Too many!
Quoted from dothedoo:Yeah it does. What's the coil count on that sucker?
OUCH! Well, there are some very talented playfield restorers in the States, do you have anyone down under?
Quoted from PinballNZ:This is the sad image of my Spirit Playfield. How the heck am I going to fix this? It is currently in another country but will join me here in New Zealand at some stage. This was the result of a previous owner trying to remove the mylar.
maybe I could glue it back down ;(
If only someone would repro the playfield.......
Circling back on this one. Sold the shopped out game but still trying to get the restored one 100% Working.
Got the power sorted out and got SWEMMER MPU and Driver boards installed. The games lights up, sound works but there is no score display coming up and it won't coin up.
Any suggestions?
Also, want to know if there is a manual or something to tell me what the LEDs mean on the boards.
IMG_5277 (resized).jpgIMG_5278 (resized).jpgIMG_5279 (resized).jpgHa ha. Nothing. They are just little models.
Quoted from mrm_4:What are those little alien guys for in post 120?
After closer inspection, 3 issues were found and resolved.
The diode on a flipper actuator was broken.
The slam switch on coin door needed to be closed all the time.
WAs getting a grounding issue with a wire touching a coil bracket.
Only issue remaining is the upper playfield drop targets aren't setting.
