I picked up my Gottlieb Spin Out a few months back and have slowly been working to clean everything up. I recently installed a new rubber kit and that made me notice something.

There are 2 posts in front of the roto assembly where the plastic always breaks. I have seen 2 different rubber setups on these posts. Some images show the rubber stretched between the two posts and other show each post with its own individual rubber.

Which is correct??

There should be a list of rubber rings that are used on the machine listed in its manual. Another way to find out is to look at the advertising flyer. From the flyer, it looks like Spin Out used one rubber ring on the two post... Of course, there could have been modifications made for the use of rubber rings at the factory after the flyer was printed. Or end users could have discovered that a different ring combination worked better...

Looking at images on the IPDB, it shows a singe rubber across both posts which I believe would the correct set up. Personally I think there would be more chances of the ball hitting or breaking the checkered plastic if a single rubber on the posts where used.

I have my Spin Out set up with one rubber across the two posts. It seemed to be logical as you have one plastic spanning both posts.

Since you cannot find the checkered plastic anywhere, mine is a convert from an old Gottlieb Pro Football trimmed down to fit.

Hey, sometimes you do the best that you can!

The ring list for Spin Out shows one A-10219, which is a 1 inch ID rubber ring.

There is 2 settings for those 2 posts. Liberal and conservative.

Spin Out operations manual indicates B10219 across the posts-note also the often missing chequered flag plastic.
