Quoted from PhilGreg:

As for masking only certain areas, I didn't do it, but you would probably need to use a cameo vinyl cutter (or do it by hand) and stick it to the back of your printed translite.
I'm pretty sure that's what the guy who made my North Star translite did:

I'm pretty sure that is what he did too.

How am I just now seeing these? These are awesome, you sir are a true artist!

Quoted from PhilGreg:

Ha! Sorry I didn't give you credit

Oh it's not problem, I was just supporting your assumption. If I can answer any other questions, feel free to let me know.

I'd love to be on the list for the next batch myself.

but I'm hoping with a big bold FRAGILE writing on the box they don't go much rougher than that.

Phil, I may have missed it in 8 pages, what is the discussion about pared down translites for these?
I'm sure you know why I inquire?

Any suggestions?

My 2 cents:

Only 2 more to go!

I know inquiring minds want to know, do you have plans for another batch anytime soon?

#533 1 year ago

Got my unit today safe and sound! Very excited for it, thanks Phil for all your efforts.

Was lucky to get on the list and received the acrylic version.

Nice, I would like that version too if he does another batch!

Man that takes me back a few years, I molded some automotive wheel center caps for a couple that got lost and were no longer available.
Pretty fun process if you ask me.
Looking good as always Phil!

I'm not as talented as Philippe when it comes to original artwork, but here is one I did for a fellow pinsider who wanted a space theme.
It should look pretty familiar, my clock has yet to get powered up so the score reels are a little out of alignment.

Thinking I may finally have my translite ready to send off to print for my clock.
I'm nowhere as skilled at original art as Philippe, so it's cutting and pasting for me.

May I ask what printing service you would use? I might be interested in doing something similar down the line, but not sure to whom I should turn...

Message sent.

Almost 18 months ago I got my clock kit, today I finally plugged it in. What's that old nagging wife joke, see, I got it done!
I've got a little alignment work to do on the translite and the reels but I'll get it figured out.
It's a little hard to see in the photos, but I used a red under coat and topped that with a black "crackle" paint, then a simi gloss clear.
Yes, if I had it all to do over again, I'd order one assembled.

A little! The whole thing's outta whack!

I'm sure it's at my own hand and know it will get all taken care of in time, I mean after all it took me 18 months to assemble it, I'm clearly in no hurry!

Success, thanks to tireless effort by Phil. He knows his clock innerworkings I'll tell ya.
