anytime I have score problems on a game I clean and reseat the jones plugs first. the middle switch on the reel is the power. make sure it is isolated from the others. The switch that opens on 0 cuts power to the reel and opens the circuit that will advance the player unit when all reels are at 0. The power to the reels during reset is coming from S on the older machines with a reset bank. It is directed thru the 3rd and 4th switchstack behind the players unit on 2 player games. when the score reel switches "tell" the player unit all reels are at 0 it completes a circuit to advance the player unit. When the players unit advances to its final gameplay position the relay bank is "fired" by the last switch on the rear of the players unit.

To adjust these switches set reel to 0. adjust all switches over to let the arm get the full throw. Look under inside reel and make sure arm is riding against dip in reel plastic. When arm stays at furthest throw adjust the outer contact to where it is just touching, (closed). now when you advance reel to 1 it should be forced open. Then adjust the long blade of the center to rest on the outer arm. Then adjust the shorter blade to where it is lightly touching the long center blade (closed). Adjust the 3rd switch wide out of way until you advance the reel to 9, then adjust blade till it is lightly closed. You must get the full throw of the arm and the pressure of blades can not interfere. After you adjust with above procedure run thru them manually a few times and not that the backside of the switches are not twisted.

You can eliminate the score reels as the problem by manually advancing the player unit one click and “tricking” the machine into thinking the reels reset. It should then finish the reset.
