Ok, I am super excited that not only did I pick up a new table today, but one of the greatest EMs of all time in my opinion. It was bought as "not working" but I had it up and going within 30 minutes with some minor tweaking of switches. so far I have a couple of problems, but only one that has me scratching my head. The ball is supposed to advance 10 yds at a time with the spinner or roll over target and various yards based on the vari-targets and top lanes.

Let me start this next section by saying I have the schematics, but I'm not a pro at deciphering them yet as this is only my second table. all of the necessary "regular" points continue to rack up but the yards do not advance no matter which lane I hit. This led me to the "advance unit relay". sure enough when manually tripping a score relay, the advance relay doesnt move. I have traced back to score motor and all seems ok. if i manually engage the advance relay, the lights move up a notch as needed. however it does not score the 6-point TD when passing the 9 position.

i have visually inspected ALL switches and all look ok. I'm kinda at a loss and before I spend hours chasing what may be a simple solution, I wanted to ask the "experienced ones".

Thanks

edit: sorry i posted in hangout instead of tech forum... mods, feel free to move.

You need to disassemble, clean, reassemble, and lubricate the advance unit. It is probably gummed up or bound up.

Thanks mike but its actually very clean with free moving parts. The actuator moves easily but does not energize during game play. I tested resistance thinking it might be a bad coil. Getting about 15 ohms with tester. Going to take a look at the g relay delay (BB) switches today. Still a noob on schematics so it may just be a misadjusred switch. I have found alot of these on this table so far.

Another thing i forgot to mention is that the point score works as it should. I.e. 6 points on lane drain and the 1 pt targets along the side.
Just no yardage advance

To activate the Advance Unit (I), the 'normal' path to it has to get through a normally closed switch on 'O' and on 'BB'. (At least I think it's O; it's right on the crease on my schematic.)

There are two additional paths to 'I' when it's at the zero position and the 9th position, which are governed by the two switches riding on the cam.

But I'd start by checking those two normally closed switches for being clean and making contact.

We have a winner. It is actually BB and G. When you said O i knew what you meant. Those are kinda hard to see with the top up leaning on backbox, so i moves it out of the way. Pulled out G and one of the NC switches was wide open. After adjusting it, all works as it should. Thanks for the help from everyone.
