Check the back of the relay ladder. Magnetism is almost never the issue... it's likely a groove worn in the metal plate where the coil hits it.
Smooth it out with the dremel flapwheel.

Beware of saying “oiled”... the no-lube crowd will come to crucify you (and probably me)! Just the thinnest microscopic veneer of teflon lube smoothed almost completely away with a qtip will do. But of course that’s what you meant.
