I have a Genesis and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to safely remove the translite. There's a hole at the top of the machine where it feels a tumbler/lock should be. I try to simply lift it by the bottom lip and it barely budges. I feel so silly asking this question, I know I've removed it before but I guess I just got lucky. There are no other locks or anything in the way and I do not see any alterations that would inhibit my progress. Any advice?

Unlock the thing on top.

Look in there. Maybe drilled out and you need a big screw driver to turn the lock.

Here are some photos of my Rock
First photo is unlocked position. Your glass will move up into the unpainted groove if all is proceeding according to plan.
If the glass has tilted back slightly it may not be able to enter the groove. Might try a pencil eraser or other soft object through the hole to push the glass as far towards the front of the machine as possible, then have an assistant lift.

Another thing to check is that your speaker panel is down in its groove all the way. If it is raised for some reason the glass may not be able to raise enough to clear the speaker panel.

I’ve seen this a few times! The speaker panel is supposed to be angled forward, but most people put it in straight up and down. If you do that, it’s extremely difficult to get the translite out again. You can try pushing the bottom of the speaker panel back into its groove, and the top of it will be more forward. That should relieve any pressure holding the translite in place.
