Here’s my attempt at explaining pop bumper EOS switches. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

When the spoon switch gets closed by the ball, the pop bumper relay is activated and will stay activated because of a holding contact on the relay. The relay powers the pop bumper coil, pulling down the plunger. Just before the plunger reaches the coil stop, it should open the EOS switch, which breaks the holding circuit on the relay, de energizing the relay. This ensures that the pop bumper pulls down all the way every time.

So…without the EOS switch, the pop bumper relay has no holding circuit. The pop bumper only fires as long as the ball is closing the spoon contact and often doesn’t make a complete stroke, resulting in weak pops.

    Clear as mud?

Do the pop bumpers fire together on this game or are they independent from each other?
