Is it not working ever? In other words, neither for lighting Special nor for reaching a score threshold? If you manually advance the Credit Unit in the head while it's in the middle of a game does the knocker go off then?

Check the single leaf switch at the credit stepper unit..... momentarily jump a wire across switch terminals to check to see if knocker solenoid fires

No knocker sound at all , not on specials ,not on reaching a score threshold , not on a matching number at the end of the game , the credit unit is working but no sound at the knocker coil .

Thanks mrbanjo are you talking about the 3 switchs on the credit unit , when the credit wheel is on 0 are these switchs closed or open, i dont have a schematics for it yet just bought this machine yesterday.

There should be another switch on the credit unit, besides the ones you describe. Find the plunger for the advance solenoid and follow the attached lever arm across to the opposite end. The knocker actuation switch gets closed by the opposite end of the lever arm when you manually work the advance solenoid plunger. Make sure the switch contacts are clean, the wires are not broken off, and that the switch closes when the plunger for the credit advance solenoid pulls in.

Oops. Just realized that Pioneer has the different credit unit than was found on earlier multi players. Forget the description on my previous post.

The credit unit is the half moon style

If the credit unit advances but the knocker doesn't sound, look at this switch on the 2nd Chute (W) relay.
