Hi everyone,

I have a Gottlieb Mustang that has just developed a ball count issue.Was working fine now the ball count will only advance intermediately. She works...She does work . I have check both the ball return switches, they are operating o.k. The player unit looks ok. It advances when pulsed. I suspect it is not getting told to advance every now and again? I also had a look at the "P" add a player unit it also looks fine to me.
When the error occurs , If i activate the second switch , (the one the ball rolls over when kicked out), a number of times the count advances.
what am I missing , ( besides a Mustang Schematic ) . I could be wrong but I feel it is a contact somewhere not doing its thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will track down a couple of 12v lamps and have a look. Assuming the "P" is not staying activated for 1/3 turn of the motor, what would cause that?

Looking at the "P" without the lamp is looks like it activates,reacts the same when the ball advances on not. It is driving me mad!!!

Off to find some lamps..

Well it is finally sorted. It turned out to be the contact that enables a extra ball. When the ball drained and the bonus bank reset causing the machine to shake a bit. The contact was so close it touched, thus giving and extra ball every so often. No wonder i was pulling my hair out! I am sure Schematics would not of helped here. Thank you again HowardR for reaching out... It makes a difference.
