Cant seem to get the playfield bonus ladder lights to work. Wired up a new bulb & socket to eliminate existing sockets.
Unfortunately havent a schematic but using a quickdraw schematic and assume much the same on the bonus light circuit.
Bonus Unit seems to step up and step down ok. Cleaned all wiper contacts and all are lining up ok. 2x and 4x seemed to be working and correct bonus points are added and subtracted.
Just cant get the darn ladder lights to work.

Did you check that NO sw. on H (probably Tilt Hold), and give all the wires a good tug?

Tilt Hold checked and OK

Need to know where this 2nd ground wire connects

Should be able to figure it out from the schematic, or contact other Mustang owners

I would guess, based on my Mayfair, that it goes to the red circle. Blue also looks possible. No hints, such as bit of solder with broken wire? Try one, and if no go, the other.

I'ld say the blue seeing the length is correct and both ends have corrosion.

Connected to Blue - Blows the PF lights fuse
So definitely goes to Red, 2 separate ground wires confused me - why have 2 separate to the ground.
Back to square one - no darn ladder lights

Back from holiday trip and unfortunately the problem didnt fix itself whilst away.
Sure the problem is at the bonus disc.
When stepped up to rivet 1 (1000 light), the only contact is by the ground pin. How does it get current TO the bonus disc and back to the bulb ?

Yes, there is another wire leading to that stepper. It would be separate from any 25 volt circuits. A schematic would be your friend here.

Dont have a Mustang schematic but have Quickdraw and Surf Champ schematics. They seem similar.
Not much detail shown on the Bonus light circuit, the feed into the bonus unit appears to have an arrow on the end of the line, not sure what this means.

All sorted - Someone had attached the feed wire into the bonus disc on the step up coil instead to the metal bonus unit housing.

Good job and troubleshooting!

The arrow means that the connection is a wiper or moving contact and not soldered.
