I am not that great with EM machines to start with but I have a very humbling problem with this pioneer project I picked up. I can’t get the lock down bar off. I thought it was just seized to the machine but it wiggles around on the receiver. The handle will slide freely but the bar will not come loose. Is it possible that the handle has broken loose from the receiver and therefore when I open it the receiver stays locked? If so how should I go about getting that lockdown bar off lol. I appreciate the help

Thats what I thought at first too but it is pushed as far as it can possibly go.

Anyone have any ideas.

Quoted from John_I:

That is a head scratcher? Pushing the latch in the right direction (downward)? Pretty sure that game has the shark fin type bar rather than the adjustable posts. Try working the bar left and right. When it wiggles is the glass moving with it? It could still just be stuck and need a little more force.

The lockdown on the one I just sold had posts. When I pull the lever or when I move the lockdown bar the glass doesn’t move at all. The lever moves incredibly freely as if it’s not really moving the mechanism at all

Quoted from kermit24:

Is there a lot of rust? The bar could be rusted to the receiver.

No not really. That’s what I initially thought but it wiggles quite a bit so I don’t think it is rusted to the receiver

Ok so there are no screws holding it in. The lever moves freely. The playfield can be pushed up with the lever open or closed. I kind of though the lockdown bar on these locked the playfield too but I’m not sure. The bar wiggles around but will not come loose.

The glass moves a little bit and the lock down bar will move side to side and forward and backward a little.

I honestly believe the lever itself has broken. The lever moves freely and easily it does not feel as if the mechanism slides at all inside the receiver when I move the lever.

I give up. I think the lever is broken. I’ve tried all of the above and can’t get it to come off. I appreciate all of the help but I have a friend who wants the game so I’m just going to pass it on to him.
