I'm having a problem with the drop targets resetting on a king pin. I do not have a schematic and I'm wondering if anyone out there knows the sequence or if there's a certain switch on the motor relay to activate the targets resetting. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Skip,

I don’t have my documentation in front of me right now, but I found a scrap of the startup sequence in another post. The drops are reset via a score motor switch on position 2C and the S relay. I think they will be large terminals because those are big solenoids.

Good luck,
Dave

From another king pin post:

S is the start Relay, E is the sequence completed control relay

Sometimes, it's just the switch that is activated when all drops are down.

Thanks for the advice so far. I would check the switch on a motor relay. I'm away from the machine but will check when I get back home.
When I put all the drops up and start a game it plays normally but then when all the drops are down it'll just keep adding points and the motor will continue to run.
Once in a while with the play field up it will reset by itself.

Another thing I should have said even if you finished a game with a few drops down and start a new game it doesn't reset the drop targets.

Thanks for all of you guys input and information.
Again, I will not be able to check until tomorrow. (Had to get some things ready for the storm)

Again thanks for all the information and help. I checked out the motor and the S relay but still did not work. Went back through and my amazement I found out one why I was off one of the coil lugs.
Just when I think I know a little something I completely forget the basics.
The only problem now is sometimes when it resets it does it so quick it doesn't reset completely but much better than what it was.

I had a similar problem, this is what fixed my reset problems -

That adjustment is tricky. Too much travel and you get a loud buzz because the coil stops didn’t bottom out, too little and some of the targets don’t get reset because the bar didn’t travel far enough. I had a similar problem on El Dorado and to a lesser extent on Royal Flush.
