I have a Gottlieb Ice Fever machine. The capaciter next to the rectifier in the bottom cabinet blows the #2 fuse when connected. Disconnect the cap, and fuse doesent blow but pretty good hum thru speaker.Would this capaciter prevent the machine from booting up if not connected? Also when i turn the power on , Many switched lights and a few coils stay on, Who does repair work on these boards? Thank you.

Coin op Cauldron does work on system 80a boards. yes this capacitor smooths the 12vdc which goes to the power supply where its regulated to 5vdc for the cpu. I sent all my boards to COC , minus the power supply board,I replaced this one with a rottendog version. There are many ground mods required for reliable operation of system 80A, and Clive at CoC can do some during board repair, but some are required in the cabinet and between connector plugs,
these would have to be done by you. I believe PINWIKI has a good detailing of the ground mods required. Replacing old caps is never a bad thing. After doing all the ground mods my Ice Fever has run flawlessly for 2 years running.
