So I am restoring a Haunted House and have cleaned all flipper mechanics. I planned on replacing all the EOS switches with new ones from PBR. The coils (A-17875) are good and before rebuild they tested at 3.2/42.0 ohms. I also tested diodes.
I soldered everything back and tested the ohms on the bench. Test meter set at low ohms setting and wires on outer 2 lugs of the coil.
Results with the new EOS closed 40+ ohms. So I'm thinking switch not close so I pinch the contacts closed tight, still 40+, drifting to 20 when I'm fairly sure it should be 3.2 ohms. If I open switch I get 42.0 ohms. Tested continuity on the switch lugs and it's hit and miss even pinched shut. Do these NEW switches have a coating on them or require a burn in time? If I bypass the switch with a screwdriver across the switch lugs I then get the 3.2 I was looking for as if the switch is closed. Any ideas whats going on?
