My bud Chuck and I are bringing his Gottlieb Goin' Nuts, number 10 of 10 made, to Expo tomorrow. Here it is...packed and ready to go.

I am so pumped to read this. Thanks Chris!

That is very cool.
Very rare and unique game. Everyone at expo should get a game or 3 on it.

#4 8 years ago

That is a pretty fun game. Play away!

#5 8 years ago

Goin nuts is headed home. I hope everyone was able to get a game or two in on it. Chuck picked up a QBerts Quest to go with his GN. They'll be back at Expo next year.

Thanks so much for bringing it to Expo! Never thought I'd see one in person. Great game and VERY different than most. Dana and I were both taken off guard by the multi ball auto launch to start the game. Lots of fun. Thanks again!

Even though the free play area had issues, big props to all of those that did bring games. There were three rare games there that I counted: Qbert, Catacomb, and Goin' Nuts. Pretty cool to see all of those.

And in a testament to how solid a System 80 game can be made, Goin Nuts ran all expo with an issue. Nice.

odd question, but does a playfield scan of going nuts exist?

#10 8 years ago

Never heard that one was scanned.

I was kind of curious about that too, since the game is available in the pinball arcade app.

I just took a look at this game, for the first time, on the IPDB site. Does this game have outlanes ?

No. It's a timed game. Only lose your ball when the time runs out if I remember correctly.

#19 8 years ago

Thanks for bringing this... interesting & fun game.

#20 8 years ago

Very happy I got to play it. Thank you.

Basically, three balls are launched at the start of the game, and the goal is to increase the amount of time on the timer. Once two balls are lost, the timer starts counting down. There are opportunities to launch additional balls to stop and build up the timer. However, if the ball drains down the middle or the timer runs out, then the ball ends.

Oh yeah. Thanks.

I play this on Pinball Arcade, I think it is a real challenge to play and I would love to see one in real life, lucky bastards.

#24 8 years ago

Thanks for bringing it. I am also a fan from Pinball Arcade so I knew how to play already.

#25 8 years ago

Only second time I got to play this in my life. Thanks for bringing this fun and rare game to EXPO.

#26 8 years ago

Going nuts was fun, it was funny how many people didnt understand how to play or thought it was broke and just walked away, (the only reson i knew how to play was because of pinball arcade). Qbert was pretty fun also, Glad I got to play both.

Ya...I figured that might happen, but didn't have time to work up anything more than the instruction card. Next year I'll add a bigger "How to Play" card.
