Quoted from Menthelm:

Got more done today! Pulled out the Control Board (A3) and replaced a transistor to fix the light for drop target 3

Can you show me on the schematic where this is? I’ve never got the number 2 light for the drops to work.

Thanks!

Got the new blue pop bumpers installed. As you can see from previous photos that they were not from a Genesis. Have no idea if they were even Gottlieb or not.

They are from Time Warp. Williams game.

Yeah they really need to fix that. It’s been an issue for a while.

Quoted from Menthelm:

This is where you'll find the wiring for all your lamps, solenoids, resistors, ect ect.

I've blown up the section where it refers to the drop target lights. Notice that for drop target 2 is lamp L10.
[quoted image]
Then refer to the control board schematic.

Here is a close-up of the section for the drop target lamps. L10 is the part you want to look at. R11 and Q11 is what control that lamp.

This is the layout of the board. I rotated the image so that it should be the same orientation as the board in the back box. I marked the two locations on the pic.

Here are close-ups of those two sections. Again I rotated them for correct orientation.

that's a link to the resistors I ordered. MPSA13 silicon NPN transistor.
Hope this helps and you get it working. If you would like I can send you the original photos if you don't have the manual. You can zoom way in on the pics and it's really clear. PM me your email address if you want me to send them to you.

Perfect. Thank you!

Did you get your light 2 fixed chuckwurt ?

It’s to help a friend that owns my game now. I’ll report back if that does it!

Edit: Forgot to mention we didn't go with any LED flashers. We like the look of the incandescent flashers in the lab area.

Good choice. They are expensive and never look good.

Also I’ve found that frosted lenses everywhere always look the best.

And non ghosting bulbs are necessary in gottliebs. I’ve never seen a ghosting issue in the 4 gottliebs I’ve owned from the 80s.

#48 3 years ago

Yes. Non ghosting bulbs are NOT necessary. Sorry. Haha

Great hack on the bulb grabber!

Pop caps look great!! Took me forever to get my pops to all register consistently. Once I did it was wild up there! Haha

#52 3 years ago

It can definitely keep up. The switches don’t register well and need to be cleaned over and over. Once you get it, it’s awesome.

#54 3 years ago

Some times new switches need to be cleaned up a bit to so the contacts register better. But the pops can be huge when the multipliers are super high. Took me forever to get them to respond consistently but once I did it was awesome.

#56 3 years ago

Same. Maybe a very fine piece of sand paper (like 1000 grit) just to burnish the contacts a hair.
